Thank you for your support of our endeavors as we stay in the flow of change, integrating wellness tools into the creative arts, which we use for personal growth and recovery. Our mission is to provide opportunities for our members to participate in the arts in ways that are meaningful to each person, with the purpose of enhancing the quality of people's lives - members, staff, and community alike.

Artreach Razoo Fundraising Page
If you feel really inspired, you can set up a Fundraiser of your very own on behalf of Artreach! On the same Artreach page, Razoo makes it VERY EASY to do this, and all funds donated come straight to us in the mail. All you have to do is set up your page by clicking "fundraise for this agency," tell the story of why you think it's a good idea to donate to Artreach, and share it through e-mail or social networking. You won't have any money to deal with - it will come straight to Artreach in the mail.
Particularly interested in our Wellness Fund? This growing fund is to support new initiatives at Artreach, such as the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction weekends we have found to be so beneficial. People who are on disability for mental health issues most often can't afford to attend workshops/trainings in the very skills which could help them! Artreach is working hard to include access to these programs for our members. It is a new program, and as yet does not have a primary funding source. Your donations will help us expand this programming to include yoga and tai chi classes, Mindfulness weekend trainings, and other skills buildling classes which can lead to sustainable recovery. Did you know that Artreach is partially supported by Touring Fees generated when people hire The Second Step Players to perform? When you hire The Second Step Players to perform at your event, you get great entertainment AND you are contributing to Artreach's programs! All proceeds generated from touring fees are used to support Artreach activities.
Our touring show audiences are treated to an enjoyable, educational, heart-warming and funny sampling of whatever current projects are happening at Artreach. This year's touring shows included sketch comedy, poetry, original songs, and stand-up comedy based on real life experiences.
At the end of each show, our members speak their "Truth." This is perhaps as powerful as the show itself. After each performance, the actors, adults who are diagnosed with psychiatric disorders, engage in discussion about how the arts help with recovery from mental health issues. I must say that the heartfelt connections after some of the shows this year left me with a deeper understanding of the magnitude of the work we do here. Thanks to everyone who came to a show and who spread the word about recovery afterwards!

Letter to Santa Claus

Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is a HOME! We're very creative types at Artreach, and we also like to share. I think you'll love this idea, Santa, so here goes:
The Second Step Players would like to have a little black box theater. We are excited about making new friends by sharing our space with other nomadic community theaters and musicians for Open Mic nights and concerts. When our new friends come to perform, we Artreach members will provide tech and house crew support. Don't you think it's a great idea, Santa? Artreach members will be the ELVES!
In the same building, Santa, we'd like to create a beautiful Arts and Wellness Center with a meditation room/dance studio. We want to invite community members to come take cool creative arts classes with us. We'll host Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction classes, yoga, tai chi, and even Zumba so that our bellies won't shake like a bowlful of jelly! No offense, Santa. . .hey, YOU could come to classes, too!
There's so much we could do in our new home that would be good for the entire community, Santa. Please think about it. We've been VERY, VERY GOOD for these last 25 years. . .Even if you can't bring us a space, Santa, we'll take a phone number of a philanthropist who loves innovative mental health programs AND the arts and who would like a theater named after him/her.
