Where are we headed?
Greetings!

As our economy continues its bumpy journey towards year's end, now is a good time to reflect on some of the larger issues nationally to help put the status quo into some kind of perspective.

Urban theorist Richard Florida explains why recession is the mother of invention...

Richard Florida1

Richard Florida, who penned "Rise of the Creative Class" several years ago posted this article in The Atlantic Online, airing  his views on the possible evolution of our current economic tsunami. If you've not already seen it, i hope you find it as worthwhile a read as I did.
 Purcellville is going "green"

Stone Church

Recently I had occasion to speak with Robert Lauten, a quality local builder who has long supported thoughtful inclusion of designs, materials, and construction methods focussed on saving money while preserving our environment.

So he and his wife, Elsa Anders, created and new company called Village Green Homes, and are building their first LEEDS certified home right here in Purcellville.

Shown here is the 2nd of two wells which will provide low-cost geothermal heat and cooling. Other features include a sophisticated natural "air pre-conditioning and air exchange" system, as well as a built-in rainwater collection and recycling process.

Call me for more information.

While the residential housing market in our area continues to improve....

But change is coming very slowly.

The number of short-sale and foreclosure properties is slowly declining, which is good for sellers. But if you are trying to get into the market, or if you're trading up, you'll want to do so sooner rather than later.

This may be the best opportunity you will have to own the home of your dreams here in Northern Virginia.

Call me today.

All the best,

NORTHERN NECK

OF VIRGINIA
Northern Neck of Virginia
Now is a great time to think about buying a waterfront property in Virginia's famous "Northern Neck". Three and a half hours from here on good divided dual highways without dealing with the Rte 95 corridor or the Bay Bridge.

It's like turning back the hands of time. Picturesque settings like this which I photographed on a recent cruise from Reedville to Tangier Island.

As a member of the Northern Neck Association of Realtors (NNAR) since 1997, and as a former owner of waterfront property in Reedville, I'd love to share some ideas about how best to tie down a "placeholder" on the water for your affordable enjoyment.
