OLLI Night at the Movies
October 11th has been
set as the date for our annual OLLI Night at the Movies fundraiser, thanks to
the generosity of John Schweiger, owner of Coming Attraction Theaters. Proceeds of the event will support a
subsidized ride program for our members who are unable to provide their own
transportation to OLLI classes or feel uncomfortable driving in challenging
weather conditions. Details of
this program will be forthcoming.
The exact movie time
will be published prior to the event but is approximately 6:30pm. Your donation ($15 or more is suggested)
includes a movie ticket as well as a drink and bag of popcorn. A portion of this donation is tax
deductible.
The title of the movie,
by theater rules, cannot be announced.
However, those of you who network socially will be pleased with the
choice of film. As another hint, prior to the movie being shown, director David
Fincher's mother, OLLI's own Claire Fincher, will share some "behind the
scenes" tidbits. Book your tickets after October 1st through OLLI's Ashland office

Medford Community Forum
...Monday, October 25
 Save the date for an OLLI Community Forum to be held in the Presentation Hall of the RCC-SOU Higher Education Center in Medford on Monday, October 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The program, titled Choices and Options When Cure Is Not Possible, will feature presentations on palliative care by Davis Wilkins, MD; Jerrye Wright, RN; and John Forsyth, MD, followed by a Q & A session. Become better prepared to support a loved one or friend with serious health issues. Home-baked goodies and beverages will be offered. Feel free to bring a guest.
