Special Chamber Music Concert 4/30
Trio SolistiFree to OLLI Members
Lovers of chamber music will get to enjoy a free concert performed by the Trio Solisti especially for the benefit of OLLI members on Friday, April 30 from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

This trio has received rave reviews from music critics at the Wall St. Journal, Washington Post, New York Times and The New Yorker Magazine, making this, indeed, a very special opportunity to experience "a transcendent performance" in the wonderful acoustics of the SOU Music Recital Hall. Details here.

Information about other SOU music events can be found here.
Community Forums & Lectures
OLLI's regularly scheduled two hour Community Forums and Community Lectures are included in your membership as well as free to the general public.  They are a great opportunity to learn about a topic in a single session and introduce friends to OLLI.  The Medford Community Forums even include an opportunity for social interaction over free refreshments a half-hour prior to the programs.

Commentary on American Democracy & Its History

Three talks in the next week focus on American democracy.  In an Ashland Community Lecture tomorrow (April 14), Gerry Cavanaugh discusses "The Undemocratic Nature of the U.S. Constitution" in Room D from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  This will be followed by Prakash Chenjeri on de Tocqueville ("Is Democracy Achievable?") during a Community Forum in the Presentation Hall at the HEC in Medford on Monday, April 19 from 10:00 am to noon and Bob Hilton on the battles of Lexington and Concord ("The Shot Heard Round the World") during a Community Lecture in Room D in Ashland on Wednesday, April 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Special Additional Community Forum June 4

We are pleased to offer a newly scheduled Community Forum in the Presentation Hall at the HEC in Medford on Friday, June 4, titled "The Britt Backstage".  This will be an opportunity to meet the new Executive Director of the Britt Music Festival, Jim Fredericks. and to learn about the 2010 season and the future of this beloved local cultural institution.
