Greetings ,
Wow! This month has been busy and we barely got the newsletter out. Dwayne and I showed at the Park City Wine Festival. Then we did the art festival in Evergreen and Aspen. We are still playing catch up from the evacuation, but Dwayne is doing a phenomenal job.
The Wine Buddy tables have been a hit at the art shows, but not so much at the Wine Festival, which seems ironic. We equivalate it to a little too much drinking going on... ;) though we still had a good time and we got to enjoy ourselves. This weekend we will be at Beaver Creek and then Frisco, CO. We added Beaver Creek to our shows and dropped our California show because of the crazy summer that we have had.
We would like to welcome everyone that is new to our newsletter. Hope you enjoy it. |
It's always great when we can book a trip that allows us to see our family along the way. This is Dwayne and his brother Dayle, who put us up at his place while we worked the wine festival in Park City. |

Henryk Cywka
Henry with his brother Gerry.
Jill's dad, Henry Cywka passed away this month. He use to help us with the business by going to the junkyard and helping Jill pull spindles off the cars. He was only 64 and a Vietnam Vet. He was presented with Military honors at his service. Two Honor Guards came from Buckley Air Force Base, they played Taps & did the folding of the flag and presented it to Jill.
We noticed a red poppy in the bottom left hand corner of this photo, a flower that is sometimes used for symbolic remembrance of soldiers who have died during wartime.
Henry's light-hearted, quick and witty sense of humor will be sorely missed. He was a loving father with a kind soul who would help anyone at a moments notice.

Dwayne's Artist Statement:
My sculpture is a reflection of my desire to create challenging show-stopping pieces of art. I choose to work with metal because of its durability and longevity. Being able to stop a horse in action, capture and maintain the definition of its muscle structure and strength is my greatest reward. I am challenged by the complexity and beauty of the horse and with each piece I try a more complex stance. I work with stone, steel, copper, stainless steel & aluminum.
Artist Statement
My rock chairs have been compared to something found on the set of the Flintstones, but great care is given to ensure they are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The stone added to discarded steel results in functional furniture inspired by Mother Nature. They are not only weatherproof, but integrate easily into landscapes and cityscapes without intruding on the surrounding beauty.

We hope you are having a great summer and enjoying some beautiful, fun days in the sun. We are pressing on and look forward to seeing you at the upcoming shows or hearing from you through email or phone calls.
Thank you for supporting us and the arts!
Please let us know if we can ever be of service.
Best wishes, Dwayne & Jill
