Ok, it's NOT stone furniture or sculpture, but its kept me busy for a couple of days!

I had to cut down this HUGE tree in our yard because it had beetle kill. It was the biggest tree on this side of the mountain and we hated to see it go.

Our wonderful neighbors helped us, they took the wood and moved slash to the slash pile with their truck and trailer. In total we made 30 runs of slash, from one tree! Our girls counted the rings and it was 165 years old, it was here before the Civil War. I saved 4 slabs from it to make tables. I would have liked to save part of it and make a carving, but it's really dangerous to cut a tree that high up.

Choosing the Right Color of Stone for Your Yard

We often have clients ask for our opinion when determining the color of stone for their furniture.

There are a couple of things to consider, the first is whether or not you  want your furniture to blend in, or be a focal point.

Clients with a red flagstone patio might want to have their furniture contrast rather than 'disappear'. Others may want the focal point to be something else and prefer the furniture to subtly blend into the background.

Most clients find that the Idaho Gray works best in any setting because it has highlights and low lights. It has tons of character with variations of light gray, dark gray, white, tan and browns making it an interesting  conversation piece.

Either way you cannot go wrong with stone furniture, it always compliments the surroundings and never intrudes on the beauty.

Where in the World Should Stone 2 Furniture Be?

Calling for your help!

We are looking for hot home furnishing stores or art galleries to carry our line of furniture. Back east is a particular interest, as we don't make it there often. Shops need to be located in a busy area with a lot of traffic and affluent shoppers. Unusual furnishing stores would be great!

Do you know of any hopping, high-end areas that people would love to find stone chairs?
