Greetings!

Greetings to everyone! The year is quickly coming to an end and that means my birthday is just around the corner! It's a BIG one this year - I am turning 50 on December 23. For my birthday I will be celebrating it in Arizona with my parents and family.

I feel hopeful that the year ahead will bring big growth and new ideas. We will be celebrating 10 years of crafting stone furniture in July! Yes I began my heavy work when I turned 40, it's suppose to get easier but that's not the way I work. Now I am creating monumental works of art like the horses and hopefully some big public art pieces.

To celebrate my birthday I have two special offers that you can pick from. The first is 10% off all sales made before the end of the year, this includes the furniture and sculpture. Custom orders are also welcomed.

Or you can have free shipping on any order made by 12/31. Both are great deals and I hope you are able to get in on this.

Ginger Kathrens with The Cloud Foundation

Ginger Kathrens
This was a wonderful experience for me, I was invited to Colorado State University to learn more about The Cloud Foundation that Emmy- winning  film maker Ginger Kathrens founded. Ginger is dedicated to the preservation of wild horses on our public lands. She supports a great cause as the extinction of the wild horse in America could happen without more public awareness. Visit her website at: www.thecloudfoundation.org

 Gabriele and Dwayne at CSU
My neighbor, Gabriele brought two of her mustangs and I got to help her lead them around the parking lot for people to enjoy and pet. Of course I was asked to bring my two horses to the event as they draw a lot of attention. It was a great time and I am hoping to show off my horse sculptures at other equestrian events to show my support for saving the wild mustangs. See Gabriele's blog with photos of her mustangs at: www.mustangeecotours.blogspot.com

Dwayne with Santa Hat on Horse

As a child Dwayne spent hours cutting and shaping pieces of cardboard paper to create 3D models of motorcycles. Carefully forming each part to fit the bike perfectly and create a replica of an authentic motorcycle. Dwayne's artist talents emerged at a very young age. A self taught artist, Dwayne S. Cranford, a Colorado native, learned his welding skills in a foundry and took them with him to serve in the United States Army. Later Dwayne spent his days installing natural gas pipeline. On his days off  as a hobby he began applying his welding skills to create steel sculptures. His figurative sculptures are created from materials  such as bike chains, concrete nails and scrap steel that had been discarded. Eight years ago he began combining stone with the metal to create durable, weatherproof furniture. Jillian, helps out in the shop with assembly and picking up supplies. Her other duties are maintaining the office, website, bookkeeping, marketing, sales, pr relations, shipping and more. The construction of the furniture is done solely by Dwayne & Jillian to ensure the quality and consistency.

Cranford's work has been shown around Colorado, Nevada, California, Texas, Wyoming, Minnesota and in other parts of the United States. It can be found at The Pine Haven, Estes Park (CO), The City of Lone Tree, (CO), City of Heath, (TX), The Best Western Pioneer, Lusk (WY) Sedona, AZ and numerous private collections.

Artist Statement

My rock chairs have been compared to something found on the set of the Flintstones, but great care is given to ensure they are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The stone added to discarded steel results in functional furniture inspired by Mother Nature. They are not only weatherproof, but integrate easily into landscapes and cityscapes without intruding on the surrounding beauty.
