Dear ,
Greetings! Hope you are enjoying your fall weather! It is beautiful here in Colorado, no snow yet.
With the holidays just around the corner now is the perfect time to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for, especially this year, I appreciate the little things even more.
I find myself very blessed to be able to work in a profession that I love, and to be able to create work that stirs the soul. This is my goal, as I create the work that I love, I want to move people and make them feel something, whether it's sitting in a chair made of stone or seeing one of my life-sized horses for the first time.
I am thankful for my family's health and happiness, and the talent that I have been blessed with to bring beauty into the world, in the form of art.
I am especially thankful for all of you, the ones who support me in this journey! Your encouragement and support helps excel me as an artist. Thank you to everyone who receives my newsletter, visits me at the shows, purchases art and supports me, without you it would not be possible.
Thank you!

Featured Publications

November has been an exciting month for us, we were featured in 3 publications!
This one is Ali Magazine, a publication that features business, life and style for the woman-preneur.
The Deep Seating in Idaho Gray Flagstone with Ottomans was featured.

The stone furniture was also a featured product in Landscape Architecture, a magazine used by the American Society of Landscape Architects.
And our local paper, the North Forty News did a follow up on the two horses together in the field at our house.
Wow that's a lot to be THANKFUL for!

Stone Furniture Rock Solid in Recession
A major trend today is the extension of the home living space into the backyard. Many people are not moving into bigger homes, they are making the best of the home they have. With this trend comes the need for Patio Furniture. For years consumers have had just a few choices. Plastic, wood, teak and wicker were the most popular. The trouble with all of these choices is the level of quality, the need for maintenance, cost and product life. Many consumers found that their inexpensive furniture wasn't that much of a bargain because of the need to replace it every couple of years. Consumers found that the more expensive choices ended up costing them in storage and upkeep.
Now consumers have another choice in outdoor furniture. Stone Furniture is an excellent choice for the consumer that wants quality for a good price and their purchase to be an investment. With Stone Furniture the consumer doesn't have to worry about replacement cost because Stone Furniture will last for a lifetime, perhaps longer. There is no upkeep, the most that has to be done is a rinse with the hose. Once the furniture is placed it will not blow away nor will the weather harm it in anyway. There is no need to store Stone Furniture, it will withstand any weather Mother Nature Throws at it. In fact, it just gets more beautiful as time passes. It also doesn't compete with the beauty of the natural surroundings, it compliments it.
Another popular trend is the concern for the environment. Stone Furniture is made with stone and recycled steal. Nothing was manufactured to create these one of a kind pieces of functional art. No harsh chemicals are needed to clean and maintain the beauty of the furniture. The best part is this is the only set of outdoor furniture you will ever need.
Although money is tight, people are still willing to invest in a quality product that will last. Stone furniture not only lasts a lifetime but provides beauty and functionality throughout time. It will not ugly out or wear out. The great thing about stone furniture is it becomes more beautiful over time thus adding to its value.
People are not giving up luxury, they are simply being more selective about it. They want items that are built to last, have a small carbon footprint and will not add additional cost to the budget for maintenance and storage. Stone Furniture offers all this to the consumer that wants to have the best and only want to invest in it once.
Stone furniture continues to be a rock solid investment in beauty and comfort.

Where in the World is Stone 2 Furniture?
Looks like this might be at a restaurant or a bar, but its our customer's home in Park City, Utah.
I just delivered these bar sets as you can see from the falling leaves.
This was a custom job where I built the table to be one inch shorter than the deck railing and the stools were a custom height complete with 360 degree swivels. |
Dwayne's Bio
As a child Dwayne spent hours cutting and shaping pieces of cardboard paper to create 3D models of motorcycles. Carefully forming each part to fit the bike perfectly and create a replica of an authentic motorcycle. Dwayne's artist talents emerged at a very young age. A self taught artist, Dwayne S. Cranford, a Colorado native, learned his welding skills in a foundry and took them with him to serve in the United States Army. Later Dwayne spent his days installing natural gas pipeline. On his days off as a hobby he began applying his welding skills to create steel sculptures. His figurative sculptures are created from materials such as bike chains, concrete nails and scrap steel that had been discarded. Eight years ago he began combining stone with the metal to create durable, weatherproof furniture.
Jillian, helps out in the shop with assembly and picking up supplies. Her other duties are maintaining the office, website, bookkeeping, marketing, sales, pr relations, shipping and more. The construction of the furniture is done solely by Dwayne & Jillian to ensure the quality and consistency.
Cranford's work has been shown around Colorado, Nevada, California, Texas, Wyoming, Minnesota and in other parts of the United States. It can be found at The Pine Haven, Estes Park (CO), The City of Lone Tree, (CO), City of Heath, (TX), The Best Western Pioneer Court, Lusk (WY) Sedona, AZ and numerous private collections.
Artist Statement
My rock chairs have been compared to something found on the set of the Flintstones, but great care is given to ensure they are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The stone added to discarded steel results in functional furniture inspired by Mother Nature. They are not only weatherproof, but integrate easily into landscapes and cityscapes without intruding on the surrounding beauty.
