| Our Beautiful Planet!
April 2010 |
Greetings!
Happy Earth Day!
Everyday I step out of my front door I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Surrounded by Mother Nature's beauty, she is the inspiration to my entire line of furniture. 8 years ago when I began to design my first piece of furniture, I had longevity in mind. I wanted to create something that would last a lifetime. The thought of it ending up in the landfill never crossed my mind. As I continue to build stone furniture today, I am proud to say that I have accomplished this goal in many unnoted ways by using the very best products available and never skimping on quality. From the stainless steel bolts, recycled aluminum, salvaged steel to the lifetime warranty I can truly say that Earth Day is really a celebration of sustainability and less waste. I am happy to have a product that meets these high standards. The only problem with stone furniture is that it NEVER wears out!
I am excited to be exhibiting in Aspen, CO April 24 & 25 at the Eco-Fest. Aspen is huge on sustainability and you can see what is going on by visiting www.aspenecofest.com. My other exciting news is that, for a limited time, I am offering FREE delivery to parts of Texas, Kansas & Oklahoma. I am heading out to Paris, Texas to pick up my new trailer and making free deliveries along the way! If you live in Dallas, Fort Worth or the surrounding cities, I will bring your furniture to you at no charge. This also includes the route from Colorado to Paris, Texas. Just give me a call and I will tell you if I can make it work. The only catch is that you have to place your order by April 30th and be ready to receive your furniture in May. |

Celebrate Earth Day Every Day
With Sustainable Stone Furniture
Never has there been a time when "Green" was more popular. Everywhere you turn it seems that someone is talking about sustainability and earth friendly products. Way before it was cool to be "Green" Stone 2 Furniture was building beautiful furniture that compliments the environment it is in and doesn't harm the earth. At Stone 2 Furniture everyday is Earth Day!
With spring warmth in the air and Earth Day coming up on April 22, families are taking a closer look at the sustainability quotient of the patio furniture they lug indoors and out twice a year. Because of the harshness of sun, wind, hail, pool chemicals, tanning oils, mold and mildew, nearly half of consumers expect their outdoor furniture to last only five years or less, according to a 2007 survey by Casual Living magazine. Stone 2 Furniture has created a surprising solution to the outdoor furniture madness. Furniture that won't fade, rot, disintegrate or blow away in a storm, includes no toxins, requires no maintenance and can last more than a hundred years
According to Dwayne, "we've taken something that is already 200 million years old and combined it with the durability of recycled steel or rust-free aluminum frames for furniture that can withstand all the harsh damaging elements Mother Nature can dish out." Working with Mother Nature, Dwayne has fashioned comfortable, visually striking, one-of-a-kind tables, chairs, benches, bistro sets, chaise loungers and bar sets out of flagstone, green marble and black granite.
"This is not mass produced in a factory. Each piece is handcrafted, made one at a time, with no harsh chemicals and no impact on the environment during the process." says Dwayne. It does not take any harsh chemicals to maintain it, just hit it with a hose and it is done. Its worst enemy is birds.
Stone furniture actually becomes more beautiful with time, unlike other furniture that cracks, peels, fades, etc. Clients are not going to be back in five years to replace their furniture. They are going to be adding pieces to their collections. Stone furniture integrates easily into landscapes and cityscapes without intruding on the surrounding beauty. Environmentally friendly stone furniture won't end up in the landfills, instead it can be handed down as an heirloom for the next generation.
For customers concerned about the carbon footprint of transporting stone furniture to their home from Colorado, Jill notes, "Any furniture you buy requires shipping, but ours isn't coming from overseas. And because stone furniture lasts for generations, it needs to be shipped just once. In addition, no vinyl, plastic or foam rubber goes into stone furniture and it doesn't need plastic or canvas covers for protection from the elements. We also ship using just a pallet and shrink wrap - no cardboard, bubble wrap or other cushioning materials that need to go to the landfills."

The Deep Seating Gray always outsells the rest. It's been our most popular since the start and is still going strong. The comfort is amazing and the stone has so much character it looks great in any setting. |
