Greetings!

Happy New Year!

Yes! It is true I have started another horse!

About this time each year I get a hankering to make a horse. I was really getting into him when I  had to take a break and head to Scottsdale for the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction.  If you can make it to the show, I will be there along with a lot of awesome cars...

January 18-24.

Stone Furniture not Only for Outdoors

Interior Marble Table

Love stone furniture but thought it was only good for outdoors?

Then you will be surprised to know that stone furniture has many uses indoors! Bring the natural beauty of Mother Nature inside your home with a bounty of stone furniture. Stone is already being used inside for counters, fireplaces, showers and flooring, but you can continue the look of stone with a variety of home furnishings.

The most commonly interior stone furniture is the table. Coffee tables, dining tables, end tables, hallway tables or small side tables can be used through out the home. Stone adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to any room and a beautiful stone table can be the perfect focal point in a room. Stone is easy to maintain and durable providing years of beauty, it stays virtually unchanged.

Another way to use stone furniture in your interior is with custom bar stools. They can even be made to match your existing counter tops. Bar stools can swivel which is an advantage for bars because they turn in either direction saving valuable bar space. There are many variations of these rotating stools. They come in a variety of stone colors and frames can be custom powder coated. Bar stools can be ordered with or without backs.

A simpler stone stool can be placed in any area of your house in place of a wood stool.

Is your shower area lined in stone, why not add a stone bench for comfort and relaxation and a touch a class?

Even incorporate stone furniture into the office. A large conference table made of polished stone with leather chairs gives a look of distinction and commands respect. Make your work space more inviting with a desk that has a beautiful polished stone top. This is always inviting to work on.

No matter how you use stone furniture in your house one thing is for sure, you cannot go wrong with the beauty and longevity of stone furniture. To see more photos of ways to use stone furniture on your interior go to  click here.

New Horse Sculpture Head

You are the first to see the unveiling of my new horse!

I am currently working on his head.  Take a look at the model, it will give you a good idea of what is to come. I am anxious to finish this horse so I can put the two horses together in a setting sparing with each other. It is going to be amazing!

They will go on tour with me across the country.

Dwayne's Bio
Dwayne Welding on Gate
As a child Dwayne spent hours cutting and shaping pieces of cardboard paper to create 3D models of motorcycles. Carefully forming each part to fit the bike perfectly and create a replica of an authentic motorcycle. Dwayne's artist talents emerged at a very young age. A self taught artist Dwayne S. Cranford, a Colorado native learned his welding kills in a foundry and took them with him to serve in the United States Army. Later Dwayne spent his days installing natural gas pipeline. On his days off,  as a hobby he began applying his welding skills to create steel sculptures. His figurative sculptures are created from materials  such as bike chains, concrete nails and scrap steel that had been discarded. 7 years ago he began combining stone with the metal to create durable, weatherproof furniture.

Cranford's work has been shown around Colorado, Nevada, California, Texas, Wyoming and in other parts of the United States. It can be found at The Inn At Aspen, Aspen (CO), The Best Western Pioneer Court, Lusk (WY) and numerous private collections.

Artist Statement

My rock chairs have been compared to something found on the set of the Flintstones, but great care is given to ensure they are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The stone added to discarded steel results in functional furniture inspired by Mother Nature. They are not only weatherproof, but integrate easily into landscapes and cityscapes without intruding on the surrounding beauty.

Looks like 2010 is going to be a good year!

We are getting a strong lineup of shows starting with the car show in Arizona. Jill & I will be traveling to some new areas this year, I will keep you posted as they come in, maybe we will be in your hometown.

If the weather has you stuck indoors, think about ways stone furniture can enhance your interior. A coffee table is always a great way to start.
