Sheriff Department Services Law enforcement in areas of the Township outside the Village of Spring Lake are provided by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department. In addition to a police presence throughout the county, the Sheriff's Department promotes public safety through public awareness. To assist in informing the public of incidents or events that may impact Ottawa County communities the Sheriff's Department provides email or text alerts. The Sheriff's Department will also provide free vacation security checks, where the exterior of the premises will be checked periodically. If you would like to sign up for either service, or to find more information about Sheriff Department services in the Township, visit our Law Enforcement page or the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office website. Assessing Department Deadlines
The Assessing Department would like to remind residents of two important deadlines. The deadline to file a Hardship Exemption Form is December 14. If your previous residence is empty and for sale, you can apply for a conditional rescission of a principal residence exemption. The form must be received by the Assessing Office by December 30. If you have previously applied for either of these programs, you will be mailed the required forms. If you have any questions, call Denise at 616.844.2108 or email her at dnorth@springlaketwp.org.
