The Annual Harvard and Yale Alumni Reception
|
|
Ambassador Rivkin, Mrs. Tolson, Nicolas Landrin | June 21, 2010It was a perfect summer evening on Wednesday, June 21, for the annual Harvard and Yale alumni reception. This year it was held at the stunning and auspicious Residence of the U.S. Ambassador. Alumni and their guests were able to mingle amongst
stately rooms and have a chance to meet the charismatic United States Ambassador Charles Rivkin and his lovely wife, Mrs. Susan Tolson. After welcoming remarks by Ambassador Rivkin, the seven recipients of the Harvard French Scholarship Award were presented by Nicolas Jabko. The Yale Club of France President Everett Hutt presented the Yale Book Awards donning a massive complete works of Shakespeare to three high school Juniors. After the presentations, guests could explore the magnificent rooms on the ground floor or the beautiful garden, bursting with colorful flowers dappled in the evening light. A record 220 people attended the event. The Harvard-Yale reception is a 20-year old tradition and we are delighted that the Ambassador and his wife have renewed the
hospitality of their predecessors. [Pictures from this event are online! Click here to view them.]

A Swell 4th of July Picnic

July 4th Picnic at the Eiffel Tower | July 4, 2010
It was hot. It was sunny. And it was the perfect combination for a grand celebratory
4th of July picnic "au plein milieu" of the Champs de Mars lawn by the Eiffel Tower. Blankets were spread out and yummy cheese was spread on toasty bread. Wine was imbibed, but water was on hand to quench the thirst as over 45 alums and their friends gathered to chat about the weather, living in Paris and
what a fine way it was to celebrate America's 234th birthday. Carole Gardner, Kai Carver, Denise Silber and event organizer Claire Sulmers mingled with recent alums Rachel Pollack, Pamina Bellegarde and Dylan Bourguignon. A grand time indeed was had by all! |
