3rd annual celebration of National Environmental Education Week and Earth
Day! An afternoon of family fun focused on the wonderful natural world we
live in. Pacific Science Center's Science On Wheels program joins us for
the day and families can participate in The Dow Live Earth Walk for

Scouts' projects, camping, and wilderness experiences while reusing and
recycling. Donors can have electronics ground up and responsibly
recycled by a member of the Washington State Recyclers Association. Or,
if they still work, they can be refurbished and used by others who could not

Sixty years ago, Swedish immigrant Nelson (1881-1949) gifted his Island community all of his property "for public Park purposes - recreation, amusement and education for the people." Chirgilchin: Master Tuvan Throat Singers Fri., Apr. 30, 7:30 PM
The group sings ancient folk songs in the Tuvan language and plays their own handmade traditional instruments. "Throat-singing" is an extraordinary vocal form in which one singer produces two or more voices simultaneously, harmonizing one with another to create richly layered melodies which evoke central Asian steppes and nomadic life.
