Advice from the Purple Mountain Sage
To increase your enjoyment of living:
1. "I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge - myth is more potent than history, dreams are more powerful than facts - hope always triumphs over experience - laughter is the cure for grief - love is stronger than death" (R. Fulghum)
2. Quinoa - pronounced
"keen-wah", this grain has more protein and iron and fewer carbohydrates than
any other grain! It is rich in lysine, an amino acid that aids in tissue growth
and repair. It is also rich in magnesium, a mineral that reduces the risk for
heart attack and stroke. Cook quinoa the
same as you do rice. Add one cup of quinoa to two cups water or broth, bring to
boil, then simmer with a cover until all the water is absorbed - about 15 to 20
minutes. [İBottom Line Personal. March 15, 2009]
3. Coffee pot
cleaner - mix together equal parts water and white vinegar and use only
this for a complete cycle of an automatic coffee pot. It will freshen up the pot, help to loosen
and remove mineral deposits, and prevent build-up of rancid coffee oils. Great for soaking teapots, too! [İThe Vinegar
