Teen Group Activities

We are staring up a NEW and EXCITING group for our teens!

On Saturday March 31, 2012, we will have our first event.  Drum roll please:  MAD ROLLIN DOLLS!

We will meet for dinner followed by a night of Roller Derby, brought to you by Madison's own Mad Rollin Dolls (on the same night they are donating proceeds of ticket sales to us - see below).

When: 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm on March 31st.

What:  Dinner to start at Buffalo Wild Wings - CHICKEN!  Then a quick cab ride with chaperones to Alliant Energy Center to watch the show.  Teens will be dropped off back at Buffalo Wild Wings afterward.  We will confirm the time.

Where (see map at link):

BUFFALO WILD WINGS
6544 Monona Drive, Monona

PARENTS!?!?:  We will meet and have some chicken wings at BW3's at our own parent table.  While our kids are off enjoying the show, we can sit back and relax and enjoy each other's company - or take off and run errands, whatever works for you!

The Teen Group is open to cancer patients and survivors ages 13 - 19.  If you have a friend or sibling who has been a great support to you through your treatment, you can sign him or her up to come with you.  You can get more information and RSVP by phone (608-231-8006) or by email.

BTW: Some of the teens have formed a private, invitation-only Facebook group, so if you'd like to be invited to join, email  Anne in the office and we'll forward your name to the teens in charge of the group so they can send you an invitation. We plan to have Teen Group activities every other month, so connect with the Facebook group to make sure you hear about what's going on!

Next Event:  May

What:  Scavenger hunt in Janesville

Ideas?   Contact us.  Have teens to join?  Contact us.  Parents:  Here is a place your teen can safely enjoy the company of others who have been through it, too.
Join the discussion on our Facebook page and encourage others who support area kids with cancer to 'Like' us, too!

Women's Hockey Experiences Provide Fun for Kids with Cancer!

A couple of special girls and their families got to attend Women's Hockey Games in February, courtesy of Wisconsin Hockey and Coach Mark Johnson.  The girls got to greet Bucky with high fives as he went out on the ice, and ride the Zamboni between periods to wave at the cheering spectators!
