Their donation included 2 large boxes of books and toys, $720 in gift cards for gas, meals and groceries, and a check for collected donations of $640! Hero Beads Bring Smiles and Honor the Courage of Kids With Cancer
We asked in last month's newsletter for submissions of photos showing young people with their Hero Beads. We got various responses including "What are Hero Beads?" "We want to start collecting Hero Beads!" and some great photos.
Here's a stunning photo of a teen with her strand of beads that is at least 12 feet long! Each of those hundreds and hundreds of beads represents a test, treatment, procedure, new drug, or personal milestone reached over the course of her cancer journey. It is humbling and awe inspiring to see it! To learn more about the Hero Bead program, visit the Hero Bead Page on our web site. If you have a child with cancer who would like to start collecting beads or needs to catch up on them, send an email to info@badgerchildhoodcancer.org and we'll help you get what you need. And if you have a photo of your child or teen with his or her beads, we'd love to see and share it!
