Suzy's Run/Walk    September 5th, 2010      Middleton

Suzy and three kids with cancer

Show your support for kids with cancer Labor Day WeekendSunday, September 5th at 10am at Keva Sports Center, 8312 Forsythia St. Middleton.

As always, the 4th annual Suzy's Run/Walk will feature fresh- baked chocolate chip cookies at the finish line!

Come out and run or walk with our Honorary Chairperson,
Olympic runner Suzy Favor Hamilton!

Form a team in honor or in memory of someone you love,
or to represent your workplace, club or school.


More Details:
* The 5K and 10K Runs include cash prizes for the male and female winners ($100 first prize, $50 second prize)
* The walk this year is 2 miles (instead of 5K/3.6 miles)
* Registrations start at 8:30 am
* Pirates and Princesses Kids' Run will start at 9:45 am
* Bounce House and obstacle course activities for kids, food and drinks, door prizes and more.  A healthy, life-affirming event!

Young people are supervised by UW Occupational Therapy grad student volunteers while adults have chat time.  Indoor and outdoor mini-golf, arcade play, batting cages and driving range, games, crafts - something for everyone!

Children Often Receive Inadequate Pain Relief, new study finds
The results of a significant new study were published on August 9, 2010 in an article titled "Acute Pain Management in Children Deemed 'Abysmal'."   This is important information to be aware of and to share with your medical team if you have concerns about good pain control for your baby, child or teen.  You can read the full text of the article at the link.
