Prairie Creek Church Blood Drive in Support of Childhood Cancer Awareness -- August 6th
Did you know that children and teens with cancer require a LOT of blood products? High-dose chemotherapy kills off good blood cells along with cancer cells, so cancer kids DEPEND on infusions of red blood cells and platelets. Donate a pint of your healthy blood and help us raise awareness of childhood cancer at the same time!
Friday, August 6th 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Prairie Creek Community Church 6484 North Bird St. Sun Prairie, WI
Appointments are recommended and can be made online at www.redcrossblood.org/badgerhawkeye Our sponsor code is 4465

Capital Times Kids' Fund Makes $1,200 Grant for Sickle Cell Children and Family Support Group
Capital Candlelighters is proud to announce that we have provided assistance to our sister organization, Families of Children With Sickle Cell Anemia, in securing a start-up grant to provide a quarterly education and support group. This population of young people is the second largest group of patients served by the pediatric hematology/oncology clinic at American Family Children's Hospital. These kids, teens and their families need a support group and specialized information to meet their unique medical and educational needs. The Capital Times Kids' Fund Developmental Disabilities Committee awarded this 1 year grant. |
