You Should Know . . .

ChildIn 2008, Capital Candlelighters provided direct financial assistance to families of children with cancer 93 times.  These kids live in Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Marathon, Outagamie, Portage, Rock, Sauk, Shawano, Walworth, Waushara and Winnebago counties in Wisconsin (76) and Lee, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago counties in Illinois (17). 

This does not include gas card assistance for travel to Madison, birthday gifts for hospitalized children or holiday gifts made to families in November and December.

to Support Area Kids with Cancer


You can form a team for your family, workplace, school or club, or just register to run or walk individually.  Come out on a beautiful fall day during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and join Suzy Favor Hamilton to support local kids fighting cancer!

Great prizes at all levels for participants who collect pledges, from water bottles and fleece blankets to electronics!

The BEST Childhood Cancer Family Camp
Experience in Wisconsin!

What is Hozhoni Weekend?
A weekend camp for children with cancer and their families.  Families of kids who have finished treatment in the last few years are also encouraged to attend.
Who Can Attend?
Kids and teens, 18 and under, and their families
Where is Hozhoni Weekend?
Hozhoni Weekend is held at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt, WI which is 18 miles east of Stevens Point.  A bus is provided to and from Madison.
Cost and accomodations?
The camp fee is $25.00 per family of four and $5.00 for each additional person. Financial assistance is available for those families in need. Meals and family/group cabins are included in the cost.
