Greetings!
Our Canadian summer is almost over, but in Guatemala the 'winter' or rainy season continues with endless days of hard rains. This rainy season has been particularly difficult for the entire country. Many bridges and roads have been destroyed. Villages have been washed out. People have been relocated, losing everything but the clothes on their backs. Please continue to pray for these families affected by the destructive weather.
We want to take this opportunity to thank those who have responded to the "Project" needs listed in previous E-Newsletters. We purchased a new stove for the Casa Esperanza kitchen and almost have enough funds to purchase another stove for the
main kitchen at Fe Viva. It is a great blessing for our staff to work with commercial grade equipment.
Thank you to those who gave for the 'hurricane relief' earlier this season. Fe Viva gave a donation to help Pastor Marco from Guatemala City to replace the roof on his church after the rain and volcanic ash destroyed it. Also many bails of clothing were distributed at a local school in our area for the flood victims. Food was given to several villages in our area and medical clinics were also held.
Thank you to those who gave to the Casa Esperanza "Bicycle" project. Three bikes have been purchased and funds for two more have come in so far. We are trusting for funds to come in so each of our CasaKids has their own bicycle by Christmas.
Those sponsors who wonder what they can do for their sponsor children for birthday gifts or Christmas gifts, may we suggest sending funds to go toward the purchase of a bicycle. What a blessing for the kids to have something of their very own!
We are planning the calendar for future short term mission teams to spend some time with us in Guatemala. There are some time slots still open. Please contact us if you are considering a trip. We would love to host you at Fe Viva in Guatemala.

Challenge to ALL Casa Esperanza Sponsors
The following excerpt is from Jim and Katherine Ritchie (Child Sponsors)
We are excited to see the Casa Kids are being blessed way beyond measure. Thanks for the update on all the projects going on at Casa Esperanza. We were discussing what we could do for our kids at Casa Esperanza then we received your latest update of mission projects which gave us some ideas.
We had the delightful pleasure of spending some time with Anthony Van Engen (Casa E. staff member) recently and received a comprehensive update of the kids, including great stories and lots of photos.
It is on our hearts to bless our children with new bicycles. We are willing to send a cheque to Fe Viva for $500 to purchase new bicycles for our kids. As we discussed with Anthony we want to be a blessing to our chosen children just as we would bless our very own. We would like to give our kids the opportunity to go out with Anthony to pick out their very own bicycle. We feel that if they have their own bikes it would give them some sense of ownership along with responsibility to take care of it, maintain it and enjoy it.
We understand that all the children need bikes and it must be difficult to allow some to have and not others, so we would like to challenge all the other sponsors to purchase bikes for their children. We pray that our desires line up with your vision for this project as it is heavy on our hearts knowing other children have not, so this could be the first stepping stone to encourage other sponsors to do the same for their kids.
Thank-you for allowing God to do wonderful things at Casa Esperanza.

G.O.D. WALK 2010
WALK 2010
On Saturday September 25, people all across Canada will be walking for the destinies of children in Central America and Sudan in the 6th Annual G.O.D. Walk. This event has had a prefound effect on the lives of many children in our world and is turning the hearts of the fathers to the children. Will you join with us?
The vision of the G.O.D. Walk is to:
1. Help orphaned, abused and vulnerable children in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Sudan.
2. Provide an opportunity for people to help impoverished children in another country and give them a chance to fulfill their destiny.
3. Help individuals learn more about the world they live in.
4. Have a fun-filled family day.
