Greetings!
Greetings,
We are back home now in Westbank following 7 weeks of travel, ministry, and fundraising throughout Canada. We traveled 1,000's of miles, slept in countless different beds, preached in dozens of churches, visited with hundreds of leaders and Pastors, and shared the love of Christ to so many others. It is exciting to see what God is doing in people's hearts across Canada. Our blessings are with you and your family in this new season.
With all our love,

WALK 2010
Since 2004, Casa Esperanza (House of Hope) Children's Home has been caring for orphaned, abused and vulnerable children in Guatemala. Children are handed over by the courts and many are put under permanent guardianship until they become adults. The home provides food, shelter, clothing, education, medical/dental care, counseling, legal fees, in custody situations, and a home where they can grow up in a safe, loving atmosphere. Casa Esperanza can house up to 50 children and rescue 10 children temporarily until a safe alternate home can be found and presently there are 38 children in Casa Esperanza. Primary care is provided by 12 full-time Guatemalan house parents and support staff. Casa Esperanza provides these children with a hope for the future and is dedicated to see children restored to become the future leaders in their generation.
(A second home, Casa de Alabbanza is opening Summer 2010, near Guatemala City)
Due to the great need of children in the nations that Fe Viva serves in, the G.O.D. Walk was birthed.
The first G.O.D. Walk was held in Kingston, ON. in 2005, in response to a challenge to do more for children in crisis in developing nations, especially Guatemala. This event helped raise funds and bring awareness of the plight of children around the world. In 2009, three G.O.D. Walks were held in Canada: Kingston, ON, Spruce Grove, AB and Kelowna, B.C. and in 2010 the G.O.D. Walk is expanding to more locations across Canada, with the national walk day being Saturday, September 25.
The vision of the G.O.D. Walk is to:
1. Help orphaned, abused and vulnerable children in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Sudan.
2. Provide an opportunity for people to help impoverished children in another country and give them a chance to fulfill their destiny.
3. Help individuals learn more about the world they live in.
4. Have a fun-filled family day.
How you can participate?
Be a walker
Pledge a walker
Volunteer on the day(i.e. course marshal, registration, water stations, etc)
Corporate Sponsor (i.e. banners, games, concession, t-shirts, etc.)
Organize a G.O.D. Walk in your community
If you, your school, church, or community is interested in participating in or organizing in a G.O.D. Walk, please contact Fe Viva at info@feviva.org
We can change lives together!

The Gunn's
Mike working with the kids
Fe Viva was blessed to have Patricia Peters brother, Mike Gunn, his wife Venee and 3 of their children; Cassie, Micah and Jeneah with us for 3 months. Mike was mostly in the workshop building bunk beds, shelving, and other projects for Casa Esperanza and Fe Viva. The Casa Esperanza boys and girls had many opportunities to help out. The kids had a blast cutting out things, sanding and painting. Mike is a cabinet maker by trade and was able to give Anthony van Engen, and Justin Peters some woodworking training and helpful hints.
Anthony has used what he has learned to keep training the Casa kids and give them important life skills for their lives and Justin has been teaching some of the men from the House of Refuge (Casa de Refugio)woodworking skills as well. Venee taught ESL (english) to children in Casa Esperanza, sewing with the older girls and also helped with the Casa kids homework. It was great to have the Gunn family here to support and help Fe Viva and Casa Esperanza with so much. Thank you Gunn's for your service of love.

Casa Esperanza: Curses to Blessings

Praying with Casa Esperanza Staff
Over the past few weeks, the staff and older children of Casa Esperanza had the privilege of participating in a course called Curses to Blessings. Matt and Kerry Blacklock led this amazing course that was written by Ken and Jeanne Harrington. This course is designed to bring freedom to our lives through forgiveness and releases us from the consequences of generational sins as described in Deuteronomy 28.
We had an amazing day and saw the Spirit of God release healing over all the staff and children that attended the course. We are seeing a hunger for a deeper relationship with God and a desire to learn how to walk in freedom and healing. It is glorious to see these children and women embraced by the love of the Father and seeing their lives restored and redeemed; they truly have a hope and a future as children of God.
A door has opened for weekly meetings with all the staff of Casa Esperanza where the ladies are able to ask questions and receive instruction on how best to raise up the next generation of God's children. We understand that these children are an inheritance from God and He is directing us how to love and bring healing to lives that have been hurt, abused and rejected. Praise God!

Bible College El Salvador Outreach: May 24-31
May 24 to 31, Fe Viva's International School of Destiny (ISD) will be traveling to El Salvador on their end of semester outreach. 13 students, staff and Fe Viva missionaries will be ministering in the southern coastal city of Usulutan for the first 4 days and then traveling to the capital of San Salvador to minister during the remaining days. In Usulutan they will be working with a local church doing evangelism, school ministry, giving testimonies, doing service work and more. The Usulutan region used to be the "greenhouse" or "bread basket" of El Salvador, providing food for the whole country, but due to the civil war in the 1980's and corruption this area is no longer providing for the nation. God wants to restore the life and vitality, physically and spiritually, that this region once had. Please pray for this group to bring life to this area. During their time in San Salvador they will be working with youth and participating in a dance conference. Please pray for the team as they go.
