Christmas Greetings to all!

Another busy year has almost come to an end.  As a family we faced many health challenges in 2009 and are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Praise God for His faithfulness and His grace to get through the difficult times.  Also, we are now really empty nesters, because Miranda and the grandkids have moved to Alberta where Corban has a great new job in the computer field.  We are so pleased that they have a good church family in Spruce Grove to welcome them into the community, but we are not looking forward to a quiet Christmas without them.  Joshua (& Kelsey) are close by as well as my sister Gail and her husband, Piers, so we will celebrate our Saviour's birth, and all the gifts that event brings to each of us.

Fe Viva had a busy year of ministry in Central America.  God brought us through a year of financial strain with the help of many wonderful mission teams who worked tirelessly alongside our ministry directors on every front.  The 2nd house in the Village of Faith project should be ready for a family in the New Year. The electical has now been finished in the second house. Adam and the International School of Destiny had a wonderful first year, with students from five different countries studying together.  Rafael continues to grow the Prison Ministry in the Canada prison as well as in Managua, Nicaragua.

Our Fe Viva school in Managua has grown to include 270 students this year.  We continue to pray for sponsors to help finance the school, so if you want to partner with us in this work, please contact us.  It looks like Steve and Karla may finalize a deal for some land for House of Refuge.  It will be wonderful for them to begin building the vision for an independent recovery home.  Nelson and Melissa have built a wonderful outreach for the Youth in the area.  They had a busy Christmas season with daily Bible classes, a grad banquet, Christmas Party, and an all night event to end the year.

Steve and Patty continue their work in Casa Esperanza with love and devotion to each and every child.  Matt & Kerry Blacklock did an awesome job with the '09 MTS students & our Monday prayer nights.  We are pleased to welcome Dr. Roxana and the Jensen Family to our team of missionaries.  Please pray for them as they adjust to life on Base and the challenges they'll face. The Sudan Hospital clinic is now in full operation and is fully equipped. It has literally saved hundreds of lives already this year. The shelter for the orphaned children is also built. What a year it has been!  Thank you so much for your prayer covering and financial support!

We believe the Lord is directing us to expand the GOD WALK to include 24 communities for 2010. This will be a major focus for us in the coming months. We hope to send out detailed information to all our supporters and churches soon.

The New Year promises to be filled with God opportunities.  We look forward to seeing you all again as we travel through the nations.  May the Lord bless each of you for Christmas and give you health, peace and joy for the New Year!

With all our love,

Kim & Lynn Weiler & the Fe Viva Family.

Dear Feviva, what an amazing trip we had and there have been some incredible things happening  to our students:

Sam is starting up a bible study based on his Fe Viva experience. This was a student who was searching for God and wasn't quite sure whether he was saved or not. Not only did he dedicate his heart to God but now he has a heart to serve. We are so blessed with what God is doing in his life.

Joshua had an epiphany while in Guatemala. One of the last questions I asked the students to reflect on was what were they thankful for in Canada. Josh wrote..."I cannot just name one thing I am thankful for living in Canada. I have been blessed by God with two parents who love me and provide for me and 5 siblings who can share our parents love for us. I am healthy and God willing have a bright future ahead of me. This trip was the first time I had ever been in an orphanage with kids whose parents couldn't provide for them or had mistreated them. I was like one of those babies in the cribs at one time. When I saw them I thought, what are the odds that out of hundreds of children one boy was picked out and adopted into a God honouring family of so much love. Now that same boy is watching a baby sleep in a crib in an environment where the baby is cared and loved for, and that once even if it was not the same country or orphanage I was in an almost identical situation. It is a feeling I cannot express, it would be such a shame to take this adventure and not make something of it.

Danika wrote that she was blessed how the people down there who love Jesus just live that out. I want that at my home and why can't I have that? I am trying hard to not take the things that God gives us for granted any more.

Dane said that he really loved Monday nights. (Prayer and intercession night) I really felt God that night (the first Monday night). It was awesome! As soon as we left I felt a Holy rush (like I just had an encounter with God!) I really felt happy and I no longer felt that I could die any moment and go to hell. Because I used to feel that way a lot! And I was scared to death all the time. I am actually interested in reading my Bible and will read it! I even came home and was looking forward to going to church!

Caitlynn has a new found purpose and because I go to a public school and even though I do not have many Christian friends I feel God is with me all the time.

Blossom had confirmation that the things her mom, who did many short term missions trips in Africa, had been saying were true. The poverty was incongruent with the degree of happiness.

Raquel believes that "God brought my family out of Guatemala but at the same time giving me understanding that there is a lot of pain out there in the World. I have lots of things to be thankful for because I am here in Canada but I would have to say that just living here is what I am most thankful for."

Beth was so blessed that she was able to be used by God even with her challenges. She knows that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her.

William, Dave and I are changed people as well. How can I thank you all for this marvellous opportunity that you gave all of us. The consensus was that we were coming to bless and work for the Guatemalans but they in turn blessed us so much more. God is truly amazing.

Village of Faith Update

 Village of Faith House #2

There are now 2 houses erected on the Village of Faith property. The second house, built by Grace Baptist team in September/October should be ready for a family to move in sometime in January, 2010. Two men from Grace Baptist came back to Fe Viva to finish the electrical wiring and set up a proper

electrical junction shed for the entire project of 20 houses.

They worked very hard to get this done. All of the supplies came through donations by many people and businesses Greg and Ron contacted before coming to Guatemala. This will allow us to connect the electrical to any new home with ease and safety. What a blessing! It is probably the best wired community in Guatemala, ha ha.

We are really hoping to build another 2-3 homes in 2010. The need is so great for good housing for these families to provide security, a healthy environment and stability to those families in crisis.

The family living in the first home built by Adler Group of Companies is doing well. They have done a good job of maintaining the land and planting little crops of beans, vegetables and corn to supply some of their daily needs.

It is nice to see this family doing well and enjoying the fruit of their labour. Thank you for those who have supported the Village of Faith project. You are changing lives.

God Bless.
