Raphael has worked in the 'Canada' Prison in Escuintla since 2002. He has since brought the 'Fe Viva' Bible School program into the prison for inmates, guards and administrative workers. This ministry has now expanded to other prisons and recently to Managua, Nicaragua. He has witnessed a transformation in the atmosphere of the place and brought hope and forgiveness to the forgotten and unloved ones the world despises.

SET FREE PRISON MINISTRY

In August 2002, Fe Viva was allowed into the Maximum security, Escuintla Prison to begin a Bible School program for the inmates. We now have more than 160 students in 2 prisons and have been given access to the other 3 major prisons in the country. Revival has broken out within the prison walls. More than 250 of the 860 inmates have given their lives to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Fe Viva supplies much needed supplies, such as medical aid, dental care and daily supplements to the inmates, their families, and guards.

Maximum Security Prison "Canada"
The prison was named "Canada" because of the funds donated to the Guatemalan Government by Canada. The Government of Guatemala has given full written permission for Fe Viva World Missions to operate their three year Bible School course within the prison walls. In 2004, because of the amazing changes the Bible School was having in the hearts and attitudes of the inmates, the Guatemala parliament agreed to donate a piece of land inside the Canada prison to Fe Viva in order to build a permanent structure for their Bible School.

Here's how you can be a part!
Sponsorship is a one-to-one relationship between you and your sponsored student. You can correspond, pray for him, receive reports on his progress, even perhaps visit him if you choose to go on a short term missions trip with Fe Viva.
Gifts may also be forwarded to our Canadian address and they will be hand delivered to your sponsored student.
Sponsorship of $25 per month will help provide him with all the Bible School materials necessary to finish his three year course, including books and a Bible. This monthly sponsorship will also provide much needed medicines, clothing and hygiene products. Your donations will also help with salaries for the Pastors, teachers and the Director (Raphael Santos) who oversee the "Set Free" prison ministry. See
www.feviva.org for more information.

My name is Victor Hugo Palacio.

I was born in a Christian home and knew the Lord at an early age. However, wrong relationships drove me to wordly things and eventually to prison on November 23, 2000. I have since recommitted my life to the Lord and am now studying in the 'Fe Viva Bible School' inside the prison. It has been a source of strength and maturity to me. I need to pay a fine before I can leave here, but with God's help I know it is possible. I thank God for not abandoning me even though I abandoned Him. Dios Le bendiga.

 Sudan Update
 Hi everyone.

As I was taking a shower (yes, I do take showers, ha ha) the Holy Spirit spoke to me to write this. It is in regards to what we have been able to do so far in Sudan, because of what so many have given and the many prayers. We sometimes wonder if what we have done and are doing is making a difference. Let me tell you what the Spirit of God just told me.

He said, "Kim, I want you to think of what has been accomplished so far."  The Holy Spirit then began showing me some of the details in my spirit and mind.

I saw the temporary compound built to house and feed teams of people from around the world. Although it is simple, it has blessed so many that otherwise could not have come. I saw a well drilled where water was the greatest needed resource and more precious than silver or gold. Thousands of lives have been so blessed and saved because of it. I saw a community covered in filth and garbage that was cleaned up and restored to its beauty. I saw many peoples lived saved from disease because of this one act we were able to implement. I saw a community medical clinic built that will save many thousands of lives in the coming months and years. I saw hope and joy being restored to an entire community and city because of this. I saw thousands of soldiers, fighting a war against injustice and the evil forces of this world. These soldiers were holding bibles and declaring victory because they had the true word of God because we were able to bring them these Bibles. I saw thousands of hungry and naked children now fed and clothed because we sent a 40ft container filled with precious cargo of food, clothing, medicines, building materials, tools. I saw people being able to read and share of the goodness of God in the night time because we were able to send generators to their community and for the first time in their lives they had light where there was no light. I saw Pastors and students studying the Word of God with enthusiasm and zeal because we were able to start Bible Schools and build a humble church structure for them to meet in. I saw children studying and learning for the first time in their lives because we were able to send school supplies and pay for teachers salaries. I saw God smiling because we were able to bring smiles to His loved ones. I heard God say, "It is good"

As I am writing this I am overcome with it all. All I can say is thank you to God for allowing us to help His children that need us the most. I thank you all because you are part of it and have the passion to keep on helping. Let us keep doing what has been put before us. Just imagine what might happen next because of you and our work together.
Our latest trip to Sudan was very good and fruitful. It reinforced what the Holy Spirit has already spoken to me It is always such a challenge both physically and emotionally when we go there. The toughest thing for me this year was seeing the 700 war orphans. These kids have nothing. Last year there were 200 that we knew of, now it has grown to 700. Actually, it did not grow, it is just that more orphaned kids found out that there was more safety and a bit of food at the army barracks so they just started showing up from the bush, where they were living.

It moved all of us to tears.

It pleases me a lot to say that, thanks to your great contributions we have and are able to help them right away. The General gave us a challenge while we were there. We have taken the challenge and are doing something.
We are working with Garang, our partner in Sudan to buy the materials and get a team together to get a
Shelter built before the rains come. This shelter will cost $15,000 USD. This was not in the plans at first but then seeing the immediate need we decided it has to be built to keep these kids alive. Secondly, we have been able to send the second container from Vancouver. The cost to send it is high, but more than worth it considering what we had been able to put inside it. We were given 30 one hundred gallons drums of Dried fruit and soup mix. This is equivalent to 150,000 meals for the children. We were also able to purchase a tractor with all the accessories to help with crop planting and teaching better agricultural practices
So they can start feeding themselves. We were in contact with an agriculture ministry in Aweil while there. They will be helping teach our guys how to use the tractor and how to plant large crops. This is exciting!

The container also has 100's of tarps, tons of clothing, hospital beds and equipment

Thanks, again for your great blessings to us and to all the thousands of lives you have blessed in Sudan and Your fellow servants in Christ
