Fe Viva World Missions
In 1995 they left Canada with their 3 children to start Fe Viva in Guatemala. Since then the work has grown to include many distinct ministries directed by a wonderful team of missionaries and Guatemalan staff. God continues to increase the vision to include building children's homes, schools, medical facilities and ministry bases in Nicaragua and Sudan. Their home office is in Canada, but their hearts remain with the people God has brought into their lives.

Featured Ministry: House of Refuge
Steve and the men
Recently, we have been putting these men to work. They have helped us pour our concrete roof for our new laundry room as well as stairs for our future second story on our house. The men also helped to pour the concrete roof on the Fe Viva Bible School. They worked hard with about 20 other men from 5:00am till 6:00pm. We see that this is helping the men to be able to get off site and begin to work and do things.
We see the need more and more for our own land. Once we get the land the men will have plenty of work from picking fruit to growing corn and vegetable and in the future raising livestock. These men need to be occupied as well as learn about the things of God! We have decided to have a fundraiser here in Guatemala where we will raise funds here to help purchase the land. We plan to sell lunches, wash cars, make & sell crafts. This way the men will get to take part in the fundraising process and begin to feel that the land project is their project! We will do this around mid December from Thursday until Saturday. All proceeds will go toward our land. This will also help the Guatemalans get involved and bless their own country.
December brings us many other activities as well. We plan to have our annual Christmas kid's outreach. I will give an exact date soon. (We had a date but saw that another ministry will be doing something so it may affect us). We try to bless the House of Refuge men's children as well as the children in the area who may not receive gifts for Christmas. We plan for about 150 - 200 children this year. If you can help with this in any way, please let us know.
We will also have our annual Guatemalan partner's dinner. We invite all the people that support us in one way or another here in Guatemala to join us for a delicious supper and a time to say thank you to each one of them.
Finally, we would like to have a special woman's breakfast as well. It has been a couple of months since we have done a breakfast for the prostitutes so we want to do something special for them for Christmas. Most of them have come from different countries so they will not see their family. We just want to bless them and show the love of Christ to them.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. We will try to keep in touch and let you know how each ministry went. We are believing God for great things.

Nicaragua Prison Update Nov.08
Nicaragua Prison

Thanks to the Lord things in Nicaragua are going well, talking to the directors, other than the fact that they have restricted the inmates ability to have "vigilia", and the right of ex-prisoners to be able to return to  visit other prisoners. These are things that will be debated, because they are legal rights which are being restricted. In March we will be finishing the first grade and in January we will be starting with another group of students.

I pray that God will continue to bless you in everything.

Pastor Rafael Santos

Sudan Update November 08

sudan report

Kim Weiler and a team recently returned from Sudan.
They met with many leaders and pastors during their time
there. They got to see the completed medical clinic that
was built this year and delivered funds (over $120,000) to
start construction on the children's home. A container is
being sent in December with much more needed supplies
for the refugees there who are building a new life for
themselves and their families. There are over 700
orphans that are in need of help. For more information
on how you can help, contact Fe Viva at: info@feviva.org

Here are the items that are being shipped by container
this winter:
1 - 55 horse power tractor with several accessories
40 barrels of soup mix and dried fruit. This is enough for about 200,000 portions.
School supplies - several boxes
8 hospital beds
boxes and bales of clothing
bales of blankets
various items - tarps, toys, bicycles etc.

Items that are still priority and would be good to get
on the container are things like back packs,
English Bibles ( we need at least 1000 more Bibles),
Vitamins.

We would like to thank those people who have supported
this important project. Your support is going to help get
this container there with all the necessary items and help
build very important infastructure.

Sincerely,

Kim Weiler
Casa Esperanza Story: Rosi and recent happenings

We want to share with you another story of how God is transforming the children that He is bringing into our Casa Esperanza Home and we are so blessed to see His love for them change their life in such a short time. Rosi (far right in peach)became pregnant when she was 12 years old by a 19-year-old man whose relationship was approved by her estranged mother. At 13 years old and with a new baby, Rosi "believed" that she was happy. Now Rosi knows better and she is a new person, walking with the Lord. It amazes us how mature she is for her age and the pride that she takes in the care of her baby. We now have won full custody over the both of them and are blessed to have them as part of our big family. Please pray to help us find monthly sponsors for these two beautiful children.
As you can imagine we need to keep our kids active and busy here with 37 children in the home. All of the children have regular chores and work projects to do. Of course there is always time for play. We also plan on teaching them extra skills like sewing, baking, hair-styling, woodworking and making our own homemade tortillas, which is quite labor intensive but a good skill to have here in Guatemala. The older kids too (on their own accord) have also become entrepreneurs and started buying and selling items to raise money for the home. It's sure great to see everyone come together...and this love... is His love in action.

From September 28 to October 8 a construction team from Adler Group of Companies in Edmonton, Alberta built the first house for the Fe Viva Village of Faith. 14 people built a 25 x 30 foot house in 7 days. It was built Canadian style; pressure treated lumber, plywood, siding, drywall and shingles. It was exciting to build the inaugural house for one of the Families in Crisis that Fe Viva sponsors. These families live in squalor; have little chance to move forward in life, due to death/abandonment/injuries to father or mother. The Adler team did a great job and we look forward to working with them again. Thank you Curt Scheewe and his Adler team.
