Hmmmm....am just reading though last week's newsletter, and it's a good thing. Fellow 8th grade parents, please don't forget (as I did) that  course selection forms are due back to your child's English teacher on January 25 (that would be tomorrow!), and B-CC counselors will return to Westland to meet with each 8th grader individually on January 27th and 28th regarding his or her course selections.

I want to put in a plug for the annual Westland Talent Show on Friday, Jan. 28th. It's a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their talents - and they have many! I encourage everyone to come cheer them on.
 

We're gearing up for a great BINGO night. We were snowed out last year, but are hoping for clear skies this year. The date is Saturday, February 5th, and we really hope you'll come on down! We have great prizes, great food, and a great "caller." Seriously, this is a big step up from elementary school Bingo nights and it will be a fun evening out for the whole family- you can promise your kids you won't even sit with them! In addition to having fun, you'll be helping to raise much-needed funds that enable the PTA to underwrite the after-school program, the Shakespeare residency, and so much more. 
 

A couple of weeks later, it's the Staff/Student Basketball Game! Save the date - Friday, Feb. 25th. It's going to be awesome!
