I feel like we're finally getting into the swing of things with the school year, but there's always something  new and exciting about every week.  Intrascholastic sports start up this week, with softball and crosscounty competing on Thursday.

 

My own big excitement for this week comes in the form of hosting a delegation of young women soccer coaches from Morocco. By way of background, I chaperoned a group of  13 female travel soccer players ages 15-18 on a 10-day trip to Morocco this summer. Most of the girls (including my older daughter, Alix) play for Bethesda Soccer Club. We had an amazing trip, and this visit by the Moroccan coaches is a wonderful follow-up. They arrived Sunday 9/18, and will be visiting Westland classes on Wednesday afternoon to learn about our education system, and particulalry our physical education classes. 

 

But the real excitment is on the PTA webpage. We've compiled and posted a list of (mostly) all the PTA jobs throughout the year - and now's your chance to sign up. Just click here and scroll down - this info will all have it's own page later today, but I just couldn't figure it out Sunday night!  But seriously, scroll down, take a look at the jobs, and volunteer now. You won't regret it!
