Apologies for the delay in sending this out. Duty called today in the form of jury service and being selected for a jury threw quite a wrench in my well laid newsletter-writing and holiday-shopping plans. Plus, it's bringing back many long-suppressed memories of evidence class in law school - who knew I'd ever have to remember any of the many exceptions to the hearsay rule after taking the Bar exam!
I hope you all had a chance to see Westland's production of "Aladdin." Congratulations to Ms. Cosby and the whole cast for a job well done! And many thanks to all the parents who donated so much behind-the-scenes time and effort into making the play such a success. I saw a few parents at the coffee shop Sunday morning recuperating from a long week of late nights!
Our celebration of the arts continues this week with the Instrumental Music Concert on Wednesday evening and the Choral Concert on Thursday evening. Both programs promise to be excellent, as always!
During this season, we traditionally take a minute to thank teachers and staff for their tireless efforts on behalf of our children. The PTA will host a Holiday Breakfast for teachers and staff on Friday, December 19th, at 7:15 am - if you can contribute, or even better, stop by to say thanks in person, please try to do so.
Looking ahead into next year...hard as it is to believe, in early January, our 8th graders receive registration information from B-CC! Counselors from B-CC will come to Westland to help the kids sort through it all. And to help YOU sort it all out, the January PTA Meeting will feature B-CC parent veterans who will give us the low-down on what high school life is really like. Mark your calendar - January 21st at 7:00pm at Westland.
And finally...before this year ends, you can STILL join the PTA - it's the perfect holiday gift to yourself & the school! Our goal is 100% membership, so please
