Happy Hearts and Hands
Building Children's Hand Skills from the Inside-Out |
If you've attended any of my workshops, you know I am passionate about building hand skills through engagement of children's hearts in play-based activities. Socio-emotional development of young children stems from positive, inspiring experiences where exploration and hands-on involvement abound! When we connect the hearts of children to activities where they are successful, we develop children's willingness to risk new learning in multiple domains including: physical-motor, social, and cognitive - Yes, that means academics! A Heartfelt Tip: Replace pencils with Wikki Stix® for basic shape, letter, and number-making and watch how many happy hearts and hands you create! Whether in the classroom or at home, using Wikki Sticks® instead of pencils reinforces the cognitive aspect of formation without the added complexity of managing a pencil at the same time. Seperating these skills (for the moment) affirms children's hearts, builds self-confidence, and develops hand skills from the inside-out! Be My Valentine...Write Out of the Box! Dr. Mari |
