 FITTOYOTA FOR GOOD

Help Families in Transition win a New Toyota!

Lack of transportation is a major barrier to homless individuals and families getting the services they need. On Wednesday, July 13, Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester-and Concord-based homeless housing & services provider, will compete against four other non-profits across the nation for a chance to win a brand new car as part of Toyota's 100 Cars for Good contest.

FIT provides transportation to their clients by driving them to and from social opportunities that are crucial to the transiiton to self-sufficiency.

Charlotte's Kitchen
             What's Cookin'

What's more patriotic than making an All-American New England traditional dish around the 4th of July? It's a no hassle dish that tastes like you spent all day slaving in the kitchen to make.

Greetings!

I can't believe it is July 2011 already, six months of a year has gone by and before we know it, the leaves will be changing. Despite the rain, it has been a great summer so far, although time seems to fly by more than ever.

Lots of things have been happening in the Gurney household since our last newsletter. My youngest Hannah has graduated college, returned home, and as some have seen, working in the Gurney's Milford location. Hannah and Phil will be getting married this month on the 24th, which is quickly approaching and we are hurrying to finish up the details. In fact, that reminds me, I still need to go get a Tux for the special day!

On the home front, Charlotte has packed my "Honey-Do" list for me to paint this, clean that, move this, throughout the house as we also prepare for the number of family will be coming to visit for this joyous occassion. Among the family arriving would be my mother, who is now 84 and is coming all the way from Kentucky, we can't wait for her to get here! It is especially a special time for her as she has 17 grandchildren. So, after Hannah gets married, I think that we are down to 6 grandkids, that are not married, but out of those six, three are engaged. For those grandchildren that have already married, she has been there for every occasion!

I do hope this letter finds you well and that you will be enjoying some family, friends and good food this July 4th weekend

.

Happy Birthday America!

Thank you to all who protect this GREAT country every day

Your friend,

Bill

So that's how!
How does a battery work?

A car battery is but one part of a vehicle's starting and charging system. The primary function of the automobile battery is to store electrical energy. This energy comes into play when the ignition key is turned and the starter is triggered into action. The battery merely stores enough electrical energy to turn the engine over and create the electrical spark required to ignite the air-fuel mixture inside the cylinders. Once the engine is running the other systems take over.
