FWMBC Members and Friends,
This Sunday we will celebrate our graduates at our 11:00am service.  We are very proud of all of them.  I hope that our members come out in a big show of support for what they have accomplished.  We only come this way in life a few times and we want them to feel the "Love" that we have for them.......Also, I have one more ticket left for the Juneteenth Banquet in Galveston, Texas on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 7:00pm.  The cost per ticket is $25.00.  Let me know if you are interested in going. I will be the guest speaker.

Please keep our sick and shut-in members in your prayers.

                                       DON'T TURN BACK

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves

the son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

(Hebrews 6:4-6)

In difficult times it is so easy to think about giving up on your goals.  We are constantly struggling to make ends meet and to keep going on the right track.  When adversity comes our way, we often find ourselves powerless to stay focussed.  Our thoughts begin to revert back to some points in our lives when things were going better.  As Christians, we know that we cannot go back to our old lives.  We understand that God has a plan for our lives and we must continue looking ahead and not behind.

The Book of Hebrews was written originally to Jews who had left Judaism to become Christians.  However, there were so many hardships that they were facing, some of them were thinking about going back to Judaism.  The writer of Hebrews tells them that they cannot go back.  For them to do so, would make what Jesus did for them on the Cross, an open shame.

The message for the Hebrew Christians, is a good message for us today.  No matter how bad things may get in our lives, we should not turn back.  Jesus Christ died that we may have life and have it more abundantly.  Our Lord will never leave us nor forsake us.  Even during times of sickness; or financial problems; or relationship problems, God is with us.  He never promised us that we would not have hardships.  But He did promise never to leave us.

If you are having a hard time right now, keep praying and asking God for more strength to deal with your situation. You have the Holy Spirit available to comfort you in your distress.  Things may get worse before they get better, but whatever you do, "DON'T TURN BACK!"  God will take care of you.
