FWMBC Members and Friends,
The deadline for voter registration is approaching and many of us are still not registered.  I urge you to take time to register and participate in a process that will have a tremendous impact on the quality of our lives for many years to come.  Many people made great sacrifices that we would have the right to vote.  I know that their efforts were not in vain.

On another note, Mother's Day is also approaching.  Make sure that we take time this year to honor our Mothers.  If your mother has passed, consider a way to honor her memory.

Finally, remember to pray for our sick and shut-in members.

DON'T LOOK BACK!

But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26)

I often hear people my age talk about the "good old days!"  I will agree that there have been times in my life when I enjoyed certain events; and relished the friendships and relationships that I had.  But I have never really wanted to go back to a previous time and relive it.  I have always accepted the fact that life is a transition that keeps on moving whether we like it or not.  We need to look forward as we meet the challenges of the future.  As the Angel of the Lord told Lot and his family, "Don't look back!"
Lot started off as a good citizen, hospitable and generous.  However before long, Sodom began to control his life.  God extended grace to Lot and his family by allowing them to leave Sodom, a wicked city, before He destroyed it.  However they had become attached to it and did not want to leave.  Although they finally left the city, Lot's wife "looked back" and became a pillar of salt.
In this passage , we see that God allows us to have choices in life.  However God wants us to continue to look forward as we get closer to that glorious day of judgment.  Holding on to the past will not be productive.  Chose to look forward and not backward.
Remember, you can take people out of Sodom, but you can't take Sodom out of people.  Change only comes when we are willing to let go of the world we used to cherish.  God has something better for His people.  He will judge those who keep looking back when they ought to be moving forward.
When things got difficult, Lot's wife sought refuge in her former way of life.  We should not be like Lot's wife.  Are you living the way God wants you to, or are you holding on to the so called "good old days?"  Keep looking forward, Jesus is coming back and I want to see Him when He comes!
