FWMBC Members and Friends,
This week I am revisiting a message that I wrote almost 4 years ago. (July 11, 2008) At the time the Nation was worried because of gasoline prices approaching $4.00 and the housing market being in trouble. My advice was that we should start our recovery with prayer. The gasoline prices began to decrease and the housing market began to get better. I feel the same way today. If God's People would pray, God will hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our Land.
In addition, let us pray for our sick and shut-in members.

Weekly Message
"IF GOD'S PEOPLE WOULD PRAY"
"IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND." (2nd Chronicles 7:14)
As we face the difficulties of paying more than $4.00 a gallon for gasoline; and a housing crisis that seems to linger; and soaring crime rates in many parts of the country, the question can be asked, "will things ever get better?" I believe that they can "IF" certain conditions are met. In the passage above, the Lord informs Solomon that He will answer Solomon's prayer and provide appropriate relief "If" His people would (1) humble themselves; (2) pray; (3) seek His face; and (4) turn from their wicked ways. Note that God's conditions do not include all people in this call, but just "His" people. Are you one of God's people? Are you a humble person? Do you strive to be part of the solution, and not part of the problem? Do you pray for our land to be healed when you pray for the things that you want God to do for you? Do you desire God's continued presence in your life? Do you seek Him? He is not hard to find for those who really search for Him. And finally, are you willing to turn from your wicked ways? Is God pleased with the way you are conducting your life? Is it time for you to make a change in direction?
As Believers, we know that God can and will solve our problems. But we also know that He has the authority to require us to meet His conditions before He does so. He has the right to say "IF! Of course "If" means that when we do what He says, He will respond accordingly. But "If" also means that when we fail to do what He says - well, let's just do what he says! Let's pray and watch God do His mighty works! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
