HOLD ON, HELP IS ON THE WAY!
Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because or your words. But the prince of the Kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
Daniel was a man of conviction. King Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, conquered Jerusalem and chose Daniel to work in the King's palace. The King wanted them to eat of the meat and drink of the wine for 3 years and at the end they would stand before the King. Daniel would not defile himself by eating from the King's table. God blessed Daniel for his faithfulness.
In the passage above, Daniel is an old man between 80 and 90 years old. His heart is grieved and heavily burdened for his people. He petitioned God with prayer and fasting. He prayed relentlessly for 3 weeks before God's angel came with an answer of hope. Most theologians believe that the angel was Gabriel. He told Daniel that Satan had fought against his coming. The good news is that Satan may cause problems for you, but he cannot keep God's blessings from eventually getting to you. What God has for you, will be for you, and you will get it.
Perhaps you have been praying about something for a long time and you have not received an answer from the Lord yet. Perhaps you, or a loved one is sick and you are getting tired of waiting for your healing. Perhaps you have had money problems for a long time and you have been praying for a financial blessing. Or maybe your marriage is troubled and you want God to resolve your problems. Many people have drug problems; or alcohol problems; or find themselves generally depressed.
The point is, don't give up. Just because things are not going well now, does not mean that God has not heard your plea and will not answer your prayer. Hold on, help is on the way. When you are down, hold on, help is on the way. When you don't think you can go on, hold on, help is on the way. When you are down to your last dime, hold on. When people don't understand you, hold on. When storm clouds come, hold on. When your strength is almost gone, hold on...because help is on the way!
