RANDOM THOUGHTS ON LOVE
But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13:13)
In the passage above, Paul makes it clear that "Love" is the preeminent attribute for a Believer to have. Love can manifest itself in so many ways. Consider some of the following and see how many you agree with me on:
Love is silence when your words would hurt. Love is refraining from doing something that you have a right to do, because you know it will hurt someone to do it. Love is caring enough to ask if someone needs help, even if it is not your business, and you know they are going to ask you for money.
Love is crying with someone who is in pain even if you don't know them very well. Love is going to the one who wronged you and acting as if nothing ever happened. Love is praying for someone to be changed for the better, even if they don't know you are praying for them, and they don't want to be changed.
Love is giving someone your last, while not stating that it is your last. Love is hanging in there to see good happen, even when everyone else has given up.
Love is the opposite of hate. Love is helping those, who are less fortunate than yourselves. Love is saying, I love you and meaning it. Love is taking a licking, as you keep on ticking, for righteousness sake. Love is a way of finding a way to solve a problem, with the least amount of pain to others.
Love is sharing yourself with others, when doing so makes you vulnerable, and you know it could expose you to ridicule.
When Christians love, they are truly concerned for other people in a good and healthy way. They show their love in their expressions; in words; and in their actions. You will know their love by the way they act; what they say; and how they treat people.
How wonderful our world would be, if we would just Love, the way God loves!
