Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
(2 Corinthians 4:16)
I am tremendously optimistic about the year 2011. Perhaps I feel that way because I have a new attitude. When we face one trial after another we can get to the place where we become despondent and lose heart. We begin to expect trouble in our lives. But when there is a new event; a new relationship; or a new opportunity in our lives, our attitude changes and our pessimism becomes optimism.
For many, the mere fact that we are entering a new year gives us hope that things will be better. We make New Year Resolutions and decide to make changes that will be productive. I believe all of that is good. But in order to accomplish our new goals, we must realize that a new attitude and considerable effort on our part is required. Don't let fatigue, pain, or criticism force you from experiencing the abundant life. Renew your commitment to serving Christ. Look to 2011 as a new beginning with anticipation and excitement towards the new things God wants to do in our lives.
Look forward in 2011 for new opportunities to pray; to serve; to help others; to renew relationships; to meet new people; to be blessed; to have our territories enlarged; to know Christ better; and just to give God more praise and glory. In the Lord, every day should be a day of new beginnings, but we can really take advantage of this NEW YEAR to renew our attitudes toward Jesus Christ.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
