FWMBC Members and Friends,
This past weekend, many shoppers hit the stores, while some participated in online shopping.  It was reported in the News that this was the largest weekend of sales after a Thanksgiving holiday in many years.  According to the experts, more spending is a result of more "confidence" that the economy is rebounding.  Although I am cautiously optimistic about the strength of our economy, I am very "confident" that God will see us through every difficulty of life.

I hope that you will not let your confidence be shaken as we close out this year and prepare for 2011.  God is still on His Throne and He will take care of all of our needs!

Remember to pray for our sick and shut in members.

 DON'T LOSE YOUR CONFIDENCE!

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. (Hebrews 10:35)

Did you have a good year in 2010?  Were you able to fulfill many of your goals?  Are you glad that 2010 is coming to an end?  Are you looking forward to 2011 with optimism?  For me, this past year has been challenging, but rewarding at the same time.  God has done great things in my life and I am "confident" that He will continue to bless me in 2011.

In the passage above, Israel had been challenged to accept a new covenant.  It represented a new way of life.  Christianity was replacing Judaism in providing an access to God.  Many Jews tried this New Way but found the going to be very difficult at first.  Perhaps they were disillusioned and thought that becoming a Christian would make their lives trouble free.  Of course that was not the case and they were thinking of turning back to Judaism.

The writer of Hebrews tells them to have confidence that they had made the right decision to become Christians.  At Calvary, Jesus died to pay the price for their sins, and they could now come to God freely without going through the Priest to make sacrifices.   The veil had been torn allowing them continuing access to the Lord.  They could be confident that their lives were covered in the blood of Jesus.  No weapon formed against them would prosper.

Accordingly, no matter what situations you may face in 2011, you can have confidence that God will help you in every case.  You can be confident that He will never leave you nor forsake you.  You can be confident that He will lead you beside the still waters.  You can be confident that He will direct your paths.  You can be confident that He will prosper you.  You can be confident that He will make your enemies your footstool.  You can be confident that Jesus is coming back for you one day and that you will live with Him forever and ever. And you can be confident for many more things that I don't have space to include in this message.

So don't lose your confidence in 2011, because it is going to be a very good year.
