FWMBC Members and Friends,
Recently a poll came out stating that the disapproval numbers for President Barak Obama and his handling of the economy exceed his approval numbers. I know that our country is facing some great challenges, but I still believe that he is doing a credible job when you consider the opposition he faces. Whether you agree or disagree, as Christians I hope that you will continue to pray for him. In 1Timothy 2:1,2 we are told to pray for all people. It specifically mentions kings and all who have authority. We are to pray for the leaders so that we can have quiet and peaceful lives. Let's support him with our prayers. In doing so, we are also supporting our country.
Remember also to keep our sick and shut-in Brothers and Sisters in prayer.

GOD LOOKS BEYOND OUR FAULTS!
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless, before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy...
(Jude 24) Earlier this week I sent an email to one of my list-serves regarding an upcoming Bible study. I failed to proof read it before sending it out and later realized that I had misspelled a word. If you have been following my emails and other writings over the years no doubt you have seen those mistakes before. Generally the mistakes are due to rushing the communication because of other matters that I may be working on. Even with spell check on the computer program, dictionaries, and the opportunity to simply look over the document before distributing it, errors still surface. Let me apologize to all of you for every mistake you have had to overlook. The truth is, every mistake reminds me that I am not perfect and have faults.
I am very fortunate to know people who look beyond my faults. All of us fall short in one way or another and we are truly blessed when our faults don't hinder us from trying to do good things. Because we can all use some compassionate grace from time to time, we should be willing to extend grace to others as well. Of course, we sometimes come in contact with someone who would rather point out our faults without trying to be compassionate about it. The good news is, that no matter how many times we fall short in the eyes of the Lord, He is willing and able to look beyond our faults when our hearts are repentant.
In the passage above, Jude's doxology praises Jesus Christ as the One who will ultimately present us to His Father without fault. Every fault that I have and every mistake that I have made will be erased. This great assurance is good news to me because I need the Lord to look beyond my faults. I not only have faults, but I sometimes stumble too. He is going to take care of my stumbling as well. I am going to try to be better in everything that I do from now on. But just in case I misspell a few words in the future; and make a few grammatical errors as well, please do as the Lord does, and just look beyond them for me. Thanks in advance. You are a blessing! |
