GOD'S GREAT PROBLEM!
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you shall surely die." (Genesis 2:16, 17)
For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
(John 3:16)
In his book, "HOW SHALL THEY PREACH," Dr. Gardner C. Taylor mentions that the preachers of his childhood would state that Calvary represents God's great answer to God's great problem. They pointed out that the problem of God lays between His holiness and His love. His holiness said, "They must die!" His love said, "They are your children!"
God hates sin although He still loves the sinner. He had to follow through with His Word to Adam and to all of us. Disobedience of God's command results in death. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. However, God devised a way for us to have eternal life with Him. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. God's great problem had a great solution.
The message to us should be clear. Accept Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sins. God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die for us. We have no excuse. Our loving Father provided a solution to His great problem as well as a solution to our problem. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior? If so, neither God, nor you, have a great problem any longer.
