FWMBC Members and Friends,
As we approach Resurrection Sunday, I hope that you are as excited as I am.  I usually run the gamut of emotions.  After all, if Jesus did not rise from the dead, our lives would essentially be without meaning or purpose.  Easter is a celebration of hope, faith, and love.  Jesus Christ loved us so much that He died for our sins.  Our faith sustains us as we look forward to the future.  Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness.  Take time to thank God for Resurrection Sunday.  Call someone and invite them to Church this Sunday.  After all, this a Big Deal.

Pray for our sick and shut-in Brothers and Sisters.

 ARE WE SCATTERED TODAY?
Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
John 16:32

Even Christians have a difficult time consistently focussing on Jesus Christ.  We sometimes get caught up in those things that affect us only, and forget how important it is to keep our focus on Jesus.  In this passage, Jesus is not rebuking the disciples, their faith was real.  but He knew that at a very crucial time, they would fail Him miserably.  His prediction was fulfilled as they deserted Him when He was arrested.

In the passage above, Jesus knew that His date with Calvary's Cross was near.  He also knew that His Disciples, though faithful, would not be prepared to deal with the harsh reality of what was about to happen.  Are we serious about standing up for Jesus?   Do we allow others to dictate our actions to the extent that we scatter when we should be getting closer to Jesus?

The phrase "you shall be scattered" is a fulfillment of Zechariah's words which spoke of the Shepherd being smitten.  It would result in the sheep aimlessly deserting him and going their separate ways (Zech 13:7). Have we left Jesus alone by scattering to our own interest and away from Him?  Are we prepared to let Jesus have His way with us, or do we find ways to avoid His service?  Are we only interested in the blessings that Jesus has for us?  Do we really expect to deal with the difficulties of following Jesus, or do we run away from Him and the Church when the going gets tough?

Jesus realized that The Father was with Him no matter what happened.  The problem was, the Disciples would not be with Him for a time.  They would scatter.  I hope that we will stand with Jesus in good times and bad.  Don't be afraid to witness for Him at every opportunity.   As His Disciples, the last thing we want to do is let Him down. I must admit that there were times in my life when I did not stand as I should have.  But His grace and mercy gave me second, third, and fourth chances.   Are we scattered today? Well I am not.  I hope you are not either?
