The recent elections have consumed a lot of our attention lately.  I am very proud of Damiane in her run for elective office.  Although it did not happen this time, I believe it will happen. My hope is that all of us will pursue those goals which we set for ourselves.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.  Congratulations Damiane, we are very proud of you.  Keep up the good work.

Let us increase our prayer time this month.   Remember the saying, "If you are going to worry, don't pray.  And if you are going to pray, don't worry"  In other words, praying and worrying don't go together.

 WHO AM I?

But Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?  So He said, "I will certainly be with you..."  (Exodus 3:11,12)

Many years ago, before I was called to preach, one of the ministers came to me and told me that he wanted me to give the Bible lesson for the upcoming Brotherhood Breakfast.  I originally said yes, but later went to him and expressed doubts that I was the best person for the job.  I let him know that there were others who appeared more knowledgeable than I about the Word.  He looked at me, and said, "the fruits, brother, you got fruits....use your fruits."  Well I prayed, prepared, and later presented the lesson, and I believe it went pretty well.  I must admit however I did not see myself in the role of Bible teacher.  Sometimes we shortchange ourselves on what we believe we can accomplish.  Remember, you are never alone when you are doing those things God would be pleased with.

In the passage above, Moses is trying to get out of going back to Egypt to lead the Israelites out of bondage.  He did not believe that he was up to the challenge.  He tells God that he has a speech problem and would not be able to speak well enough for the job.  The Lord told him not to worry about that, his brother Aaron could do the talking.  But Moses still wasn't satisfied - he wouldn't know what should be said.  The Lord told him that He would tell him what to say.  Moses finally realized that he could not get out of it when God assured him that He would certainly be with Moses.

I am very proud when I hear that someone I know is attempting to do great things that will benefit others.  I know that in our own minds each individual may ask, "Who Am I" when facing a challenge.  But remember that God will be with you.  And remember that you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you.  Who are you?  You are a child of the King!  And you can do great things.
Remember, the fruits brethren, you got fruits!
