FWMBC Members and Friends,
Although my schedule has been full, I finally had a chance a couple of days ago to watch some of the Winter Olympics on television.  It just happened to be when women's "Curling" was on.  Initially I did not have a clue regarding the strategy that was being used to win the contest.  However because I am proud to be an American, I was pulling for U.S.A. all the way.  I did not see all of the contest but we were losing when I had to turn it off.  I do understand that U.S.A. is doing well in the overall medal count though... I think we should all have pride in who we are.  It is true that we are multicultural in our country, and therefore I want the melting pot philosophy to work.  I hope that our divisions can be healed, and that we can come together as a people and serve the better good!  Even though we may not always understand each other, we ought to be able to pull for each other.  CURL ON CURLERS!

Remember to pray for our sick and shut-in Brothers and Sisters!

DON'T STOP DREAMING!

Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. (Genesis 37:5)

In January 2009 I challenged you to "BE A DREAMER IN 2009!"  I can truly say that many of you have done just that.  A few of you have pursued your dreams and are on the road to owning successful businesses, completing degree programs, and otherwise turning your lives around for the better.  Of course it is still a struggle for many of us and we must admit that dreams can be deferred if we don't hold on tight to them.  In his "I HAVE A DREAM" speech, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made this statement: "I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment I still have a dream.  It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream..."
Dr. King made it clear that "difficulties and frustrations" would not kill his dream.  As we look at the difficulties and frustrations that we face today we should have that same attitude.  It is also the attitude that Joseph had.  His brothers hated him for his dream and initially wanted to kill him for it.  Most of you are aware of the hardships that he had to endure before his dream came true.  But he never gave up.  Nor did Dr. King give up.  He paid the ultimate price for pursuing his dream when he was killed at the hand of an assassin.  However, I believe that he would have been pleased to know that Barak Obama was elected President of the United States Of America.

Both Dr. King and Joseph were dreamers.  More than that, they had something else in common.  Their faith was deeply rooted in God.  I hope that all of you will continue to dream even when your path gets difficult.  Remember, God is able to make your dreams come true.
