FWMBC Members and Friends,
This past week I was invited to an Appreciation Dinner sponsored by "OneLove Productions."  The founders, Al and Angela Caligone are wonderful people who work very hard in a ministry that offers valuable life lessons to families.  They give special attention to young people in their teenage years.  I encourage everyone to find areas of ministry where you can really make a difference.  It may be a ministry through your church, or you may want to start a separate 501 C-3.  There is a great need in our world for Christians who desire to help others.  If you are not already doing so, consider working in a hands-on ministry in your spare time.  You will be blessed while you are blessing others.

Remember to pray for our sick and shut-in Brothers and Sisters.

PERSEVERANCE IS IN ORDER!

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer... (Romans 12:12)

I sometimes quote my father-in-law who would say, "Give out, but don't Give up."  He lived by that philosophy.  No matter how difficult life became for him, he never gave up on matters that were important.   I try to incorporate that philosophy into my life as well.  Are you having some difficult times?  Does life seem to be overbearing to you?  Are you having opposition at every turn?  Have you been attacked unfairly by someone?  Perhaps you have become discouraged because you have lost your job.  Or maybe your home-life is strained.  Although the experts say that the recession is on the rebound, they cannot prove that by you.  If you are like most people, this is a very difficult time in your life.  But it is in times like these, that "PERSEVERANCE IS IN ORDER!"

In the passage above, Paul admonishes the church to rejoice in hope.  First of all, we are not to be perpetually sad when trouble comes.  We should rejoice even though things are not going well.  We rejoice because of the "hope" that we have in Jesus Christ.  A life without hope is very difficult to sustain.  But when you have hope, you can persevere because you know that better days are coming. Accordingly, "PERSEVERANCE IS IN ORDER!"

Secondly, we are to be patient in tribulation.  Living in this microwave age causes us to lose patience easily.  We want to feel good right now.  We want that new car right now.  We want our marriage to be happy again right now.  However, patience is a virtue.  Even though life may be tough now, remember, for Believers, "PERSEVERANCE IN ORDER!"

Finally, we are to continue in instant prayer.  Do you pray at all times of the day?  Do you pray at a moment's notice?  Do you keep praying even if you don't see instant results?  Christians should always focus our attention on Jesus as we run this race.  Jesus is the model for our faith.  Even as He climbed Calvary's Hill, He kept the faith.  Perseverance is thus a call to faithfulness.  Even if we don't succeed in getting what we want, God will bring us through the difficulties of life if we only persevere.  We must persevere in prayer.  In conclusion, "PERSEVERANCE IS IN ORDER!"
