No single event has been more damaging to sales of California Merlot than the 2004 movie Sideways.  Sideways slammed fruity, overdone California Merlots and created a huge surge in sale of California Pinot Noirs.  Fortunately winemakers took the criticism constructively and California Merlot is enjoying a renaissance of sorts.  The merlots we will be tasting tonight have some of the highest QPRs (quality-to-price) on our wine list.  If you haven't given Merlot a shot in a while, we encourage you to join us and taste what you've been missing!
