Tuesday Night Tastings
April 28, 2009 6 to 8pm
$10 pp including wine & cheese
It is surprising when people are surprised when they learn that quality wines are produced in Israel. We've all heard of "Old World" and "New World" wines.... Well, Israel is "Ancient World". Wine has been made in the Golan Heights region of Israel for over 5,000 years, some 2,000 years more than in Italy or France. Israel is blessed with a Mediterranean climate and the rugged terrain of the Golan Heights is ideally suited to wine production. Join us for a rediscovery of wines from a region where wine was born!
Tonight we will feature wines from Galil Mountain Winery. In the Upper Galilee, a wild mountainous region of forested slope, gorges, stony, ridges and running streams, lie the vineyards of Galil Mountain Winery. Galil Mountain is a new joint venture between the Golan Heights Winery and Kibbutz Yiron. The wines combine the unique characteristics of the Upper Galilee and the wine expertise of the Golan Heights Winery.
