Dear ,
While April didn't come in quite like a lamb, with all that snow and sleet, I am finding an ease to this month. Sonya Tomlinson, a long-time member of the Fund community joined our team so seamlessly, it is like she's been here all along. I had the opportunity to sit down with Alia Abdulahi, our 2011 Samantha Smith Award Winner and avid communicator. Without hesitation, she recited a piece of slam poetry that all 600 of us will hear at our 2011 Leadership Luncheon. We're wrapping up our third year of the Women's Leadership Series this week and next. We have over 150 statewide community members participating in our public review of our grants and collectively deciding how to allocate our philanthropic dollars. Tweets from the Universe tell me that when we trust in possibilities, everything does unfold with ease. And as it becomes easier, it becomes more joyful. At the Fund, we take risks with a sense of purpose and humor. We engage collaborators. We make mistakes and just as quickly make course corrections. Our path has become more clear and easier to follow.
We look forward to seeing you on May 18 at our Leadership Luncheon where the power and potential of our community continues to unfold with great ease.
Regards,
Eli

A New Face at the Fund
|
We have a new rock star on our team, really! While we all like to think of ourselves as rock stars here, she is the real deal. Sonya Tomlinson, who performs as hip-hop artist, Sontiago, uses her voice to spread socially conscious, positive messages. "I feel it's my responsibility to bring what I find unacceptable to the table through song," Sonya says. She is bringing her passion and enthusiasm to the Fund where she will help keep us all on track and help build our state's economic security through her work at the Fund. We couldn't be happier! Please join us in welcoming our latest team member!

Women's Leadership Series: Game Changer

Leadership can also be disruptive, and when it is, it changes the game, overturns the status quo and ultimately makes a difference in the way stuff gets done. Join us to explore our role as disruptive leaders - when and where it's appropriate, how we change the game and where we find joy and allies in the process. RSVP by clicking on the links below:
