Dear ,

Most of us know that New Year's resolutions are like pie crust promises: easily made and easily broken (though, if I had to make one, I would follow Arianna Huffington's advice and get more sleep!) The fanfare of the New Year reminds me that January 1st isn't the only time for resolutions. Six months ago, 500 of us sat together at the 2010 Women's Leadership Luncheon and made individual commitments to making Maine better through the strength and well-being of its women and girls. Our commitments ranged from mentoring to activism; they include commitments of time, talent and treasure. Have you reflected on your yellow sticky lately? Are you making progress toward your goal? If you're looking for the opportunity to create more time and space to make good on these commitments, we invite you to join us at some upcoming events. At the Portland Women's Leadership Series, Building Productive Networks, we'll explore the importance of mentors, advisers and influencers in helping us reach our goals. At Women Standing Together, we'll meet Becky McKinnell, President of iBec Creative, and help her in the next phase of her growth. If you're interested in doing some more long-term planning, mark May 18 on your calendar for our 2011 Women's Leadership Luncheon, Women's Creativity: Shaping the Future of Maine.

Happy 2011!

Eli

Women Standing Together (WST) is a growing network of professional women helping to launch entrepreneurial women to new heights. If you are creative, market-savvy and philanthropic, this group is for you! WST is a membership group, but we welcome guests to attend one event prior to becoming a member. WST membership fees are collectively invested in nonprofits that focus their work on entrepreneurship - one of the Fund's four strategic grantmaking areas that will advance economic security for Maine women and girls. Your financial investment and time investment in the guest entrepreneur produce valuable results!

RSVP online, via email or by phone 207-774-5513.
