A special welcome to all my new subscribers. It's great to have you! I hope you always find a helpful "scoop" of social media here.

Greetings! I thought April Showers brought May Flowers??? But this year especially for our neighbors in Nashville it's been May Floods! True to our name of being the Volunteer State, Tennesseans have been coming to the rescue of the folks in West and Middle Tennessee. My friend Dan Morris has a short video revealing some of the devastation around his area. You can take a look at Letters From Dan. And here's a link to my little cousin salvaging what he could at his
home. KennyAnd how fitting that this issue of The Social Media Scoop is about video marketing. Now of course, the video that Dan has on his blog is just to help those of us that are not in the trenches see what is happening around us. But you can use video in the same way for your business to help people understand what you offer in the way of products and services, or how you solve a problem for them. I hope you enjoy this issue and find some helpful resources to begin your online video marketing. To Your Online Business Success! PS: And if you would like to donate to help the flood victims here's a link the Middle TN Red Cross.

Get Your Business Name in Lights
| Last week I hosted a jam-packed teleseminar with Lou Bortone, Online Video Branding Guy! Lou was so gracious and giving, until his poor voice just gave out on him.
During our time together he share a ton of resources (most of them free) to help either get you started with video marketing or to enhance your current video marketing campaign. Here are just a few of the things he shared:
- Ways to integrate video into your social media marketing
- How to use YouTube to increase search engine rankings and enhance your visibility
- Ways to use video to generate revenue
- Why social media and video is so powerful for online branding and business building
- Some of the biggest mistakes most people make with video marketing
- And why you don't even need a camera to be successful with video marketing!
If you missed the call, I have good news! We recorded it and it's available for immediate download. That way you can listen to it again and again! And the cost of the audio recording is only $17! So if you have been thinking about adding video to your marketing toolbox or even if you have already been doing video, this recording will give you new tools and insights to have more (as Lou says) visibility, credibility and profitability!

| Top 10 Tips to Rock Your Online Video Marketing
Previously, we talked
about the basics of video marketing, including some of the fundamental
considerations when starting any project. That said, it's time to move
on to the next level!
Whether
your video is simple and clean or has taken on Spielberg-like
proportions (hopefully intentionally) your video can still benefit from
some tweaks here and there. You may not have thought about it, but
making a few small changes can make a world of difference!
- Come up with a great title - not only can a great
title attract eyeballs, but using keywords where your customers are
likely to find you will help your rankings on search engines (especially
considering YouTube is owned by Google!) Here is a link to SEO Blogger, a free keyword research tool that
works with WordPress and Firefox.
- Place your website address on the video - you can
have it discreetly running at the bottom or have it flash (with a link)
at the end of the video, but absolutely begin your description of the
video with your complete url (including the http://) - whichever way
you do it, it will help your audience connect and interact with you.
- Brand, brand and brand - don't forget to place your
logo and company name prominently (but tastefully) throughout your videos.

A Tasty Morsel
| I thought I would add a fun little area to my newsletter and share a few of my favorite recipes with you since my whole new theme is all about tasting, bytes and scoops!
This recipe is from my local TV station WBIR
Pecan Pie (Just in time for Memorial Day)
1 c. Karo light corn syrup 3 eggs, slightly beaten 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c.sugar 2 T.butter, melted 1 c. pecans 1 9" unbaked pie shell
Mix all ingredients for filling together, adding pecans last. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for 30-35 minutes longer. When done, the outer edges of filling will be set, the center still slightly soft.
If you have A Tasty Morsel recipe that you would like to share, email me at Recipes. Include your name and website and a picture of the finished recipe, if you have one.
