A special welcome to all my new subscribers.  It's great to have you!  I hope you always find a helpful "scoop" of social media here.

Greetings!

spring flowersAw, Spring has finally arrived and I couldn't be happier...or sneezier!!  As much as I love spring flowers and green grass, they don't love my nose!  I sneeze and itch and struggle with allergies through this beautiful time of year.

It's sort of like our businesses.  We work to build an attractive website and get set up on social media sites and then we start having struggles with traffic, and connections and sales!

But just like there's remedies for Spring allergies, there's also remedies for struggling businesses, whether their online or offline.  And I'll discuss some of these remedies in this issue.

To Your Online Business Success!

Are You LinkedIn?
There's lots of information and gurus who teach us how to use Facebook and Twitter, but have you heard much about REALLY using LinkedIn to build your online connections and grow your sales?

LinkedIn is an interconnected network of experienced professionals from around the world, representing 150 industries and 200 countries.  What that means to you is that you have a world of professionals at your finger-tips in which you can build business relationships, find jobs, create and collaborate on projects and collect information and much more.

It's fairly simple to set up a strong LinkedIn profile (see the steps in my blog links below) and you can even upload your current contacts for quick connections. But to Really use LinkedIn and maximize it for your business, is a secret to many.

Have you been looking for a business that you can work from home, in your spare time?  One that you can build while you continue your regular job?

I have been an independent distributor of Send Out Cards (SOC) for three years.  When I got started with SOC I knew it would be great for my business and an easy way for me to stay connected with my clients and prospects.  I also knew many of my clients could benefit from this system for their business.

Last Friday while I was out shopping with my Mom, I became a Manager in Send Out Cards!  SOCRemember, this is a business that I run in my spare time (which I have very little of) and I do it from home.  I'm building a second stream of income, and a team of other people that want to either supplement their income or quit their current job altogether, through SOC.

I'm looking for 5 people who love to send greeting cards and gifts to others and would like to make extra money, by sharing the SOC system.

If that's you, email me at Terri and I'll walk you through the SOC system.  I've already had one team member quit their regular job to manage their SOC business and another one just submitted a two-week resignation notice to focus full-time on their SOC business.

You can be next!  Contact me today for more details.

5 Simple Steps for Getting LinkedIn

Don't you love simple and easy stuff?  Well, here are my 5 Simple Steps for getting started with LinkedIn.

As you know, LinkedIn is the professional networking site where you connect with like-minded business professionals or prospects that you would like to do business with.  LinkedIn is not as "social" as Facebook and Twitter or even YouTube, it's truly about building a strong professional relationship with others that you would like to do business with whether you are the buyer or the seller.

To get started with LinkedIn is quite easy:

linkedin stepsStep 1 - Establish your account at linkedin.com.  Enter your email address and a secure password. (Be sure to jot it down so you don't forget, or you can use Roboform.com to assist with remembering passwords)

Step 2 - import your current contacts, those that you are already connected to and/or doing business with, into LinkedIn through the Add Connections Tab located under Contacts.  This is an easy way to build your connections in LinkedIn without having to search for them.

A Tasty Morsel
I thought I would add a fun little area to my newsletter and share a few of my favorite recipes with you since my whole new theme is all about tasting, bytes and scoops!

Strawberry Shortcake
(courtesy of my friend and right-hand gal Cyndi Papia Office-To-Go)

Prep:
Bake phyllo dough (1 box frozen should make about 8 servings) and allow to cool fully.
Prepare instant vanilla pudding. If you use the Cook & serve, make sure it cools fully.
Cut up strawberries - for 8 servings, I use 2 quarts of strawberries
Rinse strawberries very well and drain well. Sprinkle with about 1/8 cup of powdered sugar. Mix so that the sugar creates a syrup. Refrigerate.

You'll also need a container of Cool Whip topping (not the spray can - get the tub and make sure it's defrosted)

Optional: grated dark chocolate or toasted almonds. Or both.

Assembly:
Start with a layer of phyllo dough (cut it so it's about 2" square)
Top with generous spoon full of vanilla pudding
Add another layer of phyllo dough
(To make it really decadent, add another layer of pudding & some grated chocolate and top with another square of phyllo dough)
Spoon some strawberries over that.
Add a dollop of whipped cream and some grated chocolate or toasted almonds.

If you want to be REALLY decadent, just layer the phyllo dough, pudding & strawberries about 5 times and then top with the whipped cream & grated chocolate or toasted almonds.

If you have A Tasty Morsel recipe that you would like to share, email me at Recipes.  Include your name and website and a picture of the finished recipe, if you have one.
