Social Networking Nuggets
Facebook has recently added a new look for News Feeds and Live Feeds. The News Feed shows what your Facebook Friends have been up to since the last time you logged in to your account. The Live Feed gives you up-to-the-minute information on your friends.
When Facebook added the Live Feed feature, they set the default in user's accounts to only show 250 random friend feeds. If you have more than 250 friends and want to see ALL of their live feeds, follow these steps:
- Click on Live Feed
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Edit Options in the bottom right corner
- Set the Live Feed option from 250 to 5000, which is the maximum number of friends you can have on your Facebook Personal Profile.
This way you won't miss a minute of updates!

Tasting the Internet
|
I started my home-based business in April of 2007 as a virtual assistance business where I provided administrative support to small businesses and entrepreneurs. During the last 2 1/2 years I have been extremely blessed to have had some incredible opportunities to learn and grow my business and to meet many wonderful people who have supported my business in ways I could never have imagined.
Because of this, I have the great privilege to position my business as an online resource for sharing all of the things I have learned in the last few years and continue to learn daily. Things like, how to start, manage and grow an online business.
So, I have made a decision to
establish
a new name and new look in 2010. I will now be doing business as Tasting The Internet, One Byte at a Time. My very good friend and another one of my mentor's, Sandy Rees, CFRE came up with this clever name and it truly reflects what I hope to offer my clients.
The online world is so big and if you try to swallow the entire thing at once, you will either get choked (stop using it) or you will get indigestion (feel overwhelmed and defeated). My hope is that you will take "just a byte" to get started, and then take another and another until you feel comfortable and secure in using all of the online tools, especially social media to build and grow your business.
Here are some of things we will be offering:
- One-on-One training from the comfort of your own computer
- Group trainings designed specifically for your industry
- Social Media Strategies, Set-up and Management
- Website Design utilizing the Popular WordPress Platform
- Development of online newsletters and affiliate programs
- Set-up of shopping cart and autoresponder systems
- Facebook Fan Page customization to augment your online branding
And the most exciting thing we will be offering in 2010 is the opportunity for you to join our Social Media "T" Room. I will be talking much more about this in the weeks to come, so stay tuned!
2010 is going to be a great year, I can already feel it and I hope you will get your business started online by Tasting The Internet, One Byte at a Time!

23 Days of Birthday Gifts!
|
It's my birthday, but you get the gifts!
For those that don't know, I'm an almost Christmas Baby. My birthday is December 23rd. Because it's so close to Christmas it's easy for my family to forget and overlook that it's my special.
So...I thought to celebrate my birthday, that I would make it special by giving YOU the gifts! I'm going to be counting down the days to my birthday on my Fan Page at http://facebook.com/socialmediatraining, and my Blog at http://avirtualbiz.com/blog, beginning December 1st.
Each day, beginning on the 1st, I will be giving something to my Fans, Friends, Followers, etc., from social media tips, free online tools, free services, and much more. The Big Birthday Give-Away will end with the Big Gift of a fully customizable Fan Page to be given away on the 23rd! My plan was to have all the birthday party festivities on my Fan Page, but with the recent change in the way Facebook looks at promotions and contests, (which this is neither, but...) I will host the party on my Blog. So visit either my Fan Page for more information, or my Blog for the "Gift of the Day."
I will have a special registration for everyone to sign up to get their name in the drawing for the Big Gift. The lucky person will receive a Fabulous Facebook Fan Page designed by me with all the bells and whistles to build your brand and exposure on Facebook.
I hope you will join me for the celebration of my birth (29 years ago!!) Ok, plus a few years , by Becoming a Fan at http://facebook.com/socialmediatraining and by visiting my blog at http://avirtualbiz.com/blog each day to see what we're giving away. So don't miss a day!! Oh, and you're welcome to invite your friends to my birthday party, the more the merrier!
