I'm honored to share with you about one of our "angels", Haley. You may remember Haley; at age 13 she was severely burned over 50% of her body in a chemistry project for science class. She came to Angel Faces three years ago, head down, soul wounded, still in bandages. In the past three years, Haley has woven through a maze of endless reconstructive surgeries, days of rehabilitation, school challenges, and sports teams; all while coping with the social struggles of her "different" appearance.
This week Haley was honored with the REAL GIRL AWARD by the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas for her endless hours of volunteering and mentoring other girls who have endured serious burn injuries (click here to view article).
Watching our girls not simply "surviving their injuries", but expanding their lives to touch others; inspires me beyond words.
That's what Angel Faces teaches the girls; to not stand with their "hand out" but to extend their hand to give to those who need their strength; so they can grab their hand. CONGRATULATIONS HALEY.

Speaking of Awards, I'm pleased to tell you I was recently nominated for the "Women Changing the World" in Transition Category by Speak For Success, Women in Business. It was an honor to be nominated.
Growth and expansion has arrived. We are moving into our new offices in Encinitas in December. We have also received beautiful office furniture from the FRIEDMAN BRANNEN ASSOCIATES, a CPA firm in San Diego. The partners of the firm attended our dinner/fundraiser and recognized another way to help us.
Thank you again for your continued support. Myself, our Board of Directors, volunteers and our precious girls appreciate you and all your financial gifts to Angel Faces. You help us truly to make a difference.
Watch for the beautiful falling leaves and think about your opportunities.
In light,
Lesia Cartelli
